Plot outline for the movie The Seven Year Itch: When his family goes away for the summer, a so far faithful husband is tempted by a beautiful neighbor (Marilyn Monroe).

And yes, the movie involves the scene where Marilyn Monroes dress is blown up by the subway.

My fanfiction is just like that, except it involves Derek and Casey. Derek plays the faithful husband, who, just like in the movie, begins to be tempted by the beautiful neighbor Casey.

DISCLAIMER: I do not own Life With Derek or The Seven Year Itch.

Derek stood by his wife Emily in front of the train station. Next to Emily was their eight-year-old son Edwin. (A/N: I know it's a bit weird and unoriginal naming the son Edwin, but he doesn't play a big part in the story, so it's okay) Emily and Derek had been married for seven years. In front of them were women with there kids standing to the mother in front of a train, luggage in hand, waving goodbye to their fathers. Every summer the women and children left for vacation.

"Alright, Derek, the train leaves in five minutes. Let me find the tickets..." said Emily, handing a large blue paddle to Derek. "Hold this." Emily began digging in her purse for the tickets.

"Everyone aboard!" they heard.

Emily had gotten the tickets out of her purse finally, and looked over in the direction of the train.

"Oh!" she yelled. "Me and Edwin had better get going. Good-bye, dear. I'll call around nine-o-clock tonight."

Emily pecked him on the cheek and ran passed the Ticketing Usher, with Edwin at her tail. But, they had forgotten something.

"Honey!" yelled Derek, clutching the blue paddle. "You forgot something!"

It was too late. They had already boarded the train.

Derek sighed, staring at the men kissing their wife and children good-bye. Once the train was gone, all women and children aboard, the men looked in another direction.

Walking past them was an attractive brunette, not seeming to notice their wondering eyes. The crowd of men following the women.

Derek felt his mouth gape open, and follow them. Suddenly, he stopped himself.

"What am I doing? Just because it's summer and all the women are gone doesn't mean I can let my eyes wander." he told himself. Again, he looked at the paddle in his hand and sighed.

Hope you liked the first chapter! It doesn't really get interesting yet, so you should wait until the next chapter. Casey enters in the next chapter.
