My take on Castiel in the first episode in season 5, and why he's not dead
Disclaimer- If i owned it, i'd be a character and be dating Castiel. since i'm not, safe to say it isn't mine *sad face*
When he opened his eyes and saw a blue sky, he was honestly surprised. He was dead. At least, he thought he was. The sun (The damn too bright sun) told him otherwise. He figured that when the Archangel killed him, he's return to heaven. He'd be the heavenly being with wings again.
But to wake up and still look like Jimmy Novack (poor, stupid, Jimmy Novack who was too afraid to die) was strange and confusing. He shouldn't look like Jimmy. Poor Jimmy's human body was killed (blown up).
Another confusing realization was that his wings seemed strangely lighter. No, they weren't lighter, they weren't there. He lost his wings. When Anna lost her wings, she was reborn human. Was that what he was now? Human (weak)? Actually alive (vulnerable)?
He didn't feel human. He didn't feel weak. He felt..... powerful. Strong. Stronger then he was.
This is annoying.
He could only think of one reason that he was still alive, still here, and still looking like Jimmy Novack.
It couldn't be possible.
Except that's what you are now.
Crap.
When he could take down two of Zacharia's lackeys like it was nothing, that's when he knew he wasn't the same.
"How are you..."
"Alive? It's a good question." Cause it sure wasn't you who saved my ass. Thanks for that.
"How did these two end up on that airplane. Another good question, as the angel didn't do it. I think we both know the answer, don't we?" If Zacariah didn't get it now, then he was an idiot. Well, it is Zacariah.
"No. That's not possible." So he's not as stupid as I thought.
"It scares you, as it should. Now put these boys back together and go. I won't ask twice." Was that fear that showed on Zacariah's face? Good. He left without another word. He knows I'm stronger.
Sam and Dean don't know. He figured that when he told them that the Enochian Sigil would hide them from all angels, they'd realize he wasn't one. Never the sharpest tool in the shed, now were they?
When they asked how he was back, he left. He couldn't give them an answer because, honestly, he wasn't sure how himself. All he knew was what he was.
Castiel the Demon. This was going to be different.
I remember from an interview with Misha Collins that when he auditioned for Castiel, they told him to read it as if it was a demon, then later told him Castiel was going to be an angel. So i kinda thought, maybe they wanted Castiel to be a demon. And the way he was in the episode was kinda mean and not very angel like. So i'm kinda hoping that this is what's going to happen.
