"Why are you giving me these?" Heracles asked Kiku as he was handed a large bouquet of forget-me-nots.

Kiku's face flushed deeply. God, this was sappy. He'd chosen forget-me-nots, of all flowers to give to his lover, not something more obvious like red roses. Though perhaps Heracles would forgive his incredibly sappy gesture once he was told what forget-me-nots meant…

"W-well, in hanakotoba, these flowers mean…" Kiku began embarrassedly.

"What's hanakotoba?" Heracles interjected.

Kiku regained his composure quickly and continued, "Hanakotoba is the language of flowers. Every flower means something. Peonies mean bravery, white chrysanthemums mean truth…there are quite a lot of flowers and meanings."

Heracles smiled and looked down at his bouquet. "And what do these mean?" He asked.

Kiku blushed again, unable to look his lover in the eyes. It was time…

"F-forget-me-nots mean…true…love," he whispered.

Heracles smiled and pulled Kiku into a tight hug. "What's hanakotoba for 'this is the sweetest thing anyone's ever given to me?'" he asked.

Kiku smiled and rested his head on his shoulder. "I'm not sure any such flower exists," he said quietly.

"If there is a flower that means that, I'm going to grow a garden full of them, so I can pick them and give them to you," Heracles proclaimed proudly.

Kiku simply chuckled and let Heracles run a hand through his hair…
