Hiya!! Welcome to my new series!! This fic is heavily inspired by the book "The Swap" it's a book I read when I was little, and I think there's a movie. In this story, they are all 16 and in their second year of high school (grade 11). but anyway, let's get started!!

Chapter 1

"Not Your Average Day"

BAM!

That was the sound of Daisy's head smacking into a locker door, purposely swung open in her direction. Ouch! It hit her nose really hard, it was probably broken. She looked behind the door to see Rosalina.

"Whoops, sorry." she giggled. She and Daisy never really got along, and for some reason they were always fighting. Both of them were Peach's best friends, so they just pretended to tolerate eachother when she was around. She obviously wasn't around now.

"What was that for?!?" Daisy asked, after she realized what had happened.

"Ya know, being you." Rosalina retaliated.

Daisy kicked the back of her ankles, causing her feet to come out from underneath her and she fell on the floor.

"Now what was that for?!?" She exclaimed.

"Ya know, hitting me in the face with a locker!" Daisy really wasn't in the mood to get in trouble, so she decided to walk away. They've definitely gotten into bigger fights before though, and somehow Daisy was the only one to ever get in trouble. Anyway, She was late for science class, she hoped Mr. Caterpillar was in a good mood...

Luigi's POV

Luigi was sitting in math class, Mrs Toadstool was passing out their graded tests from the day before. She placed the flipped over piece of paper onto his desk. Luigi flipped the sheet to the front to reveal a 94%. Meh. It was an okay score, especially considering algebra was his worst unit in math.

"Hey bro! Guess what I got on mine!!" Luigi Almost forgot that his older twin brother was sitting beside him.

"uhhh I don't know, a 72?" He guessed. Mario wasn't the best student, so his guess would've been pretty high for him.

"Nope." He smirked. "I got a 98."

"What?!"

"Yeah! I just guessed most of the answers though." He said, trying not to make it a big deal.

Luigi was trying his best to be happy for his brother, but he knew that Mario getting a higher grade than him would not go over well with his parents. Luigi was never the favourite, so he liked impressing their parents with his grades.

Everyone went quiet as Mrs Toadstool started talking. "Okay class, get your tests signed by your parents and bring them into me tom-"

BEEP! The PA system turned on. "Please excuse the interruption, but would Daisy Daffodil please report to the office." Principle Toadsworth's voice sounded from the speaker.

Hmm, I wonder why Daisy is going to the office... Luigi thought.

Daisy's POV

Great, she'd just gotten away with coming late to Mr Caterpillar's Class and now she had to go to the office? Not fair! With that she stuffed the worksheet into her bag and unenthusiastically made her way out of the classroom. She heard Mr Caterpillar say something about homework in broken English on her way out. He is such a bore.

She straightened the tie on her school uniform and walked into the office. Principal Toadsworth was already sitting at his desk, waiting for her. Despite being her uncle, Toadsworth really didn't like Her that much. "Hello miss Daisy." He said in a slightly annoyed tone.

"Hello principle Toadsworth." She said, resisting the urge to mimic his tone.

"Do you know why you're here today?"

"No, I do not."

"Well, I was informed that you tripped Rosalina in the hallway today while you were supposed to be in class, is that true?"

Little snitch!

"Yes sir. I did this only after she broke my nose."

"Unacceptable!"

Yes! He was on her side! "I know right?!" She lost her composure for a second.

"I'm talking about you young lady!" He said angrily. "You've been in here for violence 5 times already and it's not even October yet!"

"Yes, but that's bec-"

"No buts! You will spend the rest of the week in ISS.Your punishment will keep increasing in this behaviour doesn't stop."

"Oh come on, Unc- I mean Principle Toadsworth!"

"Listen, I hate to do this to you, but your behaviour is just unexceptable and I can't have you hanging around with my daughter if you're going to act like such a hooligan."

Did he just-?

"Ok fine!" She walked out of the office angrily.

Just then, the bell for class change rung. Daisy started to walk in the direction of her class.

"Your punishment starts now."

She turned around to the direction of the ISS room. Just then, Luigi turned a corner and the two ended up bumping into eachother, they bumped heads so hard that they both passed out and fell on the floor in front of the office. Everyone started crowding around them, some were concerned, some were laughing, and some were just curious as to how this happened. Peach ran through the crowd as soon as she found out that Daisy was hurt, Luigi was her friend too, but she was definitely more concerned about her best friend (and cousin). She sat down beside her, unsure what to do.

Hearing all of the commotion, Principal Toadsworth decided to see what was going on, but he couldn't see through the huge crowd. "Everyone! Get to class!!" He yelled, everyone left, but Peach was still sat on the floor next to Daisy, still kind of stunned.

"Umm... Peachy? What on earth happened?!"

"I-I don't know... I-I was just going t-to class and I saw all the people a-and then I saw Luigi a-and Daisy a-and..." She was clearly very worried, and on the verge of tears. "I hope she's okay."

Toadsworth smiled sadly, he knew they were both fine, but convincing that to Peach would be difficult. "I'm sure she's fine. We both know she's gotten herself in worse situations, this is just small, and they'll both recover in less than an hour." Peach just nodded. "Now, would you please go get the nurse?"

"Yes daddy." She ran off, then came back with the nurse shortly after. The nurse and Toadsworth carried the two into the nurses office, and layed them onto beds. Peach went to class.

About an hour later, the two woke up. Daisy woke up first. "Luigi!! Are you okay?" Principal Toadsworth asked Daisy. She looked around to see... her own body in the bed across from her? What? She looked down at herself, only to realize that she was... a guy?! Wait a minute... she was Luigi!! "But I'm-" She was super confused and didn't know what to say.

Just then, Luigi woke up. Umm why was he wearing a skirt? Wait a second... He was a girl?! He looked to the bed across from him only to see his own body sat up, with an equally confused expression on its face. The principal and nurse left the room.

Heyo sorry just a quick interruption, this could get confusing... When I say Daisy, I mean Daisy in Luigi's body and when I say Luigi, I mean Luigi in Daisy's body.

The two stood up. "Did we... Um..." Daisy in Luigi's body started.

"Switch bodies?!" Luigi said, unintentionally finishing her sentence.

"Okay, this is weird... But I guess we gotta try to... Live each other's life?" Daisy said.

"WHAT?! Are you crazy?! We gotta tell-"

"Do you really think anyone will believe us?" She interrupted.

"You're right..."

"Now, we gotta get something figured out before Toadsworth comes back." She said. She stopped to think for a second. "I guess we should add eachother on our phones, and we can text eachother what to do?" She knew it wasn't the best idea, but what other ideas are there?

"That's the best idea you could come up with?!?!!" Luigi panicked.

"Let's hear your idea then, genius."

"I don't have ideas!" Luigi was still shooken up about the whole situation, Daisy was too, but she didn't show it as much.

"Okay then." The two handed eachother their phones and added themselves as a contact."Okay, it's almost lunch, so we can talk more then."

"Okay." Luigi replied. They were both obviously still very confused as to how this happened, and how it was possible in general, but they just would have to deal for the time being. Just then, Principal Toadsworth walked in.

"Glad to see you two are feeling better." He said. "Are you guys good to go back to class?"

"Yup." Daisy Answered.

"Yeah, My nose kinda hurts though." Luigi responded. Daisy forgot that her nose was broken, and now Luigi was stuck with it.

"I'll tape it up." The nurse said as she walked in.

"Oh yeah, Daisy, you don't have to go to ISS anymore." Toadsworth said.

"Yes!" Daisy said to herself, not realizing she was Luigi.

"Luigi, why don't you get to class?"

With that, Daisy went to class, and Luigi left shortly after.

Oookkaaayyy so, that was a realllyyy long chapter, most other chapters will probably only be half as long as this one. It might seem that I put in a lot of unnecessary stuff, but that will all make sense later. If you find it hard figuring out which character I'm talking about, just remember that it's "the person inside", I guess. Also, ISS stands for In School Suspension, I know it's not a thing in other places around the world so I thought I'd explain that. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed!
