"Time me, alright?"
Atem looked up from the stopwatch in his hand. "Okay," He nodded and tiptoed to give Yusei a kiss. "You be careful, alright?"
"Alright," Yusei assured his lover. With that, he jumped onto his Duel Runner and started his engine. He gave Atem a nod.
"Three… Two… One!" Atem yelled and Yusei disappeared down the track. He turned his head to the direction in which Yusei was to return.
Then he heard a crash and a yelp. Atem's eyes widened in fear. Desperately, he ran after Yusei's path.
—
"It's just a broken arm. Just a hypospray* and a day or two of rest and you can ride your runner again." The doctor said, patting Yusei on the shoulder. "Just be more careful," He pulled out a laser-like apparatus and a bright beam was shone onto Yusei's arm. The doctor pressed a button and the beam vanished. "Try it now."
Yusei stretched his arm and moved it around. "Wow thanks, Doc. Man, I wish we had that in the Satellite."
The doctor chuckled and pressed a tool to Yusei's arm. With another press of a button, Yusei's pain was gone. "You're good to go."
As they walked home, Atem finally spoke. "You know, you really need to be more careful." He huffed.
"But I have you, don't I?" Yusei smiled, scooping Atem into a hug from behind.
Atem sighed in disappointment. "Perhaps this is a sign that I should do something useful with my time here."
"Like learn to Turbo-Duel?"
"Like become a nurse,"
"Hot,"
Atem face-palmed.
