What was it that made you do it?
To take upon yourself
The burden of this fiery band,
Which none could give you else.
Was it because you couldn't bear
For someone else to hold your Ring?
Out of compassion perhaps,
Or maybe jealousy?
Did you think it was your duty
Though you feared that you would fail?
Or did your heart stir you to go
Where your mind would never dare?
Was it divine intervention?
Did the gods give you strength to go?
What was it that made you do it?
I guess we'll never know.
