Summary-L and Raito go grocery shopping
Disclaimer-I do not own L and Raito, sadly.
L stared fixated at the aisle of candy in front of him. There were so many choices! His mouth watered just looking at them all. 'What to choose?' he wondered quietly to himself as he started to walk inside it.
"Don't even think about it L," came an irritated voice from behind him.
"But Raito," L whimpered, putting on his best pouty face before turning around, "they're calling me! They need me!" Raito smacked his forehead.
"Come on," he said, dragging the detective with him away from the candy. "We came here to grocery shop, not buy more sweets for you."
"Oh but Raito," L said, "I don't need anymore sweets—you're sweet enough." Raito stopped in his tracks, blushing.
"And Raito, since you're so sweet you'll buy me more candy, right?" L said, walking up behind him. Raito sighed to himself.
'I knew it,' he thought, turning around to face L again.
"Absolutely not," with that, he continued to walk towards the produce section, L trailing behind him sadly.
For the next twenty minutes, Raito stocked the grocery cart with vegetables, fruit, cereal, meat, and whatever else you could possibly think to buy at a grocery store. Everything that is, except candy. L, having given up, just continued to stare sadly in the direction of the candy aisle, whimpering occasionally.
"Finally, I think we're done," said Raito, satisfied. He smiled to himself, expecting L to say something, but he heard nothing. "L?" He turned around to make sure the detective was okay.
L was okay, still looking wistfully at all the candy he couldn't have, and pouting furiously.
"Hello, L, I was talking to you," said Raito loudly.
"Well," said L, "I'm not talking to you." He sat down in the middle of the floor, facing away from Raito.
'What is he, five?' Raito thought to himself, 'Does he really think that if he ignores me I'll buy him candy?'
"That's fine with me, L," he said, "but I'm going to go pay now." He began to walk, but didn't get very far before the hand cuffs wouldn't let him walk any further.
'Great,' thought Raito, 'stupid handcuffs.' He pulled hard, attempting to yank L in the direction he was going, but L didn't budge, continuing to stare straight ahead and pout. Raito sighed and walked back over to him. This was not working, and people were beginning to stare at him strangely.
"L, get up," said Raito, "We have to pay and leave now." But L didn't move.
"Please?" The detective on the floor shifted his head in a different direction so that he couldn't see Raito.
"I'll give you a kiss," said Raito, but L did not move. Sighing in frustration, Raito too sat down in the middle of the floor.
'I've got to think of a way to make him move without agreeing to buy him the candy…' he thought to himself, 'it's bad for him, and he eats so much that he never sleeps.'
"Come on L," he said again, desperately, "please, cooperate and let's go already. The faster you move, the more time we have to 'play' at home," Raito said, changing tactics. He gently touched L's shoulder. But again, L did nothing. Raito looked at his watch. It was already 5:00. They had spent an hour and a half in the grocery store.
"L, we've been here for an hour and a half already. I want to leave." And still, L persisted. In truth, it was kind of fun for the detective. He loved teasing Raito. By now, Raito was mad, so he figured that he would give up. Turning around to face Raito, he was just about to say so, when all of a sudden, the younger man burst out yelling.
"FINE, I'LL BUY YOU CANDY! I JUST WANT TO LEAVE THIS PLACE ALREADY!" L smiled.
"Thanks."
Twenty minutes later, the two of them walked out of the grocery store carrying four bags, three filled with groceries, and one filled with candy.
"I love you Raito."
"Yeah, whatever."
