Notes: I am using the original japanese name of Kai's grandfather.
Soichiro Hiwatari (Voltaire)
This is the spelling I am taking, though I know there is another variant of the name with some 'u's.
Thanks for reading.

Kai/Soichiro Focus
Soichiro Hiwatari is a hard man to please. He is full of high expectations and thinks only of himself. His grandson has done nothing to please him. To feel proud of him would be a waste. He hasn't done anything worthy.
Kai has not proven his worth and even though he is of his own blood, the boy is nothing but a tool.
A puppet whose strings are often pulled.
Love, at least from Soichiro never enters into the equation. Kai perhaps, at the beginning knew the feeling. But his heart is slowly wilting. Soichiro leaves his heart frostbitten every day.
Soichiro has taught Kai only the want and need for power. He has left the boy in the cold of Russia, and in the hands of a man with no scruples.
Kai has learned that greatness and worthiness can only come from winning no matter what. It is the only thing that will satisfy and make him feel like he actually means something. His value is measured through his grandfather's approval, regardless of what he says to himself.
Bonds, connections, they mean nothing to Kai, he has never known such things. They are an alien thing, a feeling he does not understand. He cannot grasp it.
Soichiro is displeased, all his efforts were wasted. Kai is now back in Japan with a gaping memory. But his plans are not ruined, just delayed. Kai needs to be pushed harder.
The spinning of a blue beyblade is not enough to comfort Kai like it used to. It is now another tool for his grandfather.
But other things have now entered into an equation that was only for x and z. Now there are four more variables that need to be accounted for. They pull Kai in another direction. Soichiro pulls back even harder.
Kai is a rag doll. Mixed emotions and thoughts but blood will always be thicker than water.
Kai knows that his grandfather's acceptance will only come if he does as he's told. But he's always loved to rebel. But his thirst for power is something Soichiro knows too well; he was after all the one to put it there.
It is easy to manipulate Kai. Very easy, all that needs to be said is Black Dranzer.
Soichiro knows Kai's mold, he made it after all. But Soichiro is still not proud.
Kai throws everything he could have, and does have for his grandfather and power.
The greatest moment Soichiro has ever known, is when the sacred beasts are swallowed whole.
Soichiro has lived for this glorious moment.
And Soichiro has never been more proud of his grandson.
But nothing is ever free. Kai learns that a bit too late. Deals with devils never turn out well.
