so, this is my first fanfic in about a year, and I know it needs some work still, and any constructive criticism is welcomed. As are any other reviews, follows, and faves. I apologize for it being so short, but future chapters will be longer. Well, enjoy!
She ran as fast as her legs could carry her, her lungs burning, her legs aching, every part of her body screaming for her to stop. But she knew she couldn't; not if she wanted to stay alive.
So she kept going.
She knew those woods better than anyone; in fact, she had spent a great deal of her time here, whenever she wasn't in school and whenever she didn't have to be at home or at one of her father's 'important meetings'. These woods were actually the only place she felt at home. They were where she trained, where she sketched, where she did everything she loved.
But she couldn't help but feel that something was missing.
And now, she was running through them for what could very well be the last time.
Even though she knew this place like the back of her hand, it was dark, and there was no way she could've seen the large rock at her feet.
She slipped, and let out a scream despite her best efforts. As her head connected with the rock, she knew she was doomed.
After all, it was only a matter of time until they found her. And if the fall didn't kill her, they certainly would.
