Elsa slowly opened her eyes. Her vision was blurred but she could feel the cold night air against her skin and fresh powdered snow against her knees. Her dress was ripped and her white hairs was blowing gently in the smoky wind. A ringing sensation echoed in her ears.
"Whats happening" she whispered. She tried moving her hands but they were locked into place. Burning iron handcuffs squeezed her fingers together.
"Finally, you're awake" a familiar voice laughed.
"Hans?" Elsa cried " Whats happening, where am I". She tugged at the chains coiled around her but it was no use. Hot beads of sweat dribbled down her forehead.
"Don't waste your energy on trying to escape" Hans smiled smugly "I've got you now".
"But, how, what happened" she stuttered. As her vision returned she could see him standing over her grinning.
"Don't you remember? Oh, of course not, that sleep drug is really quite strong I'm afraid" Elsa scowled at him and tried to remember what had happened but her memories seemed lost in the whirlwind in her mind.
"Allow me to explain" Hans sneered relishing in her bewilderment "do you remember that your pesky sister was about to be married to that oaf Kristof?". Elsa paused and then nodded slowly as memories of the event floated back.
"Well, after I was banished from Arrendale three years ago I have been plotting to have my revenge. You see my dear, the boat that you sent me away on never reached home. I killed the captain and most of the crew only a few hours after it set sail. Ever since then I have been sailing the seas recruiting men to take over this kingdom. Eventually I recruited over 50 of the most skilled soldiers to take the kingdom back over. But as time progressed I realized that I could not become a respected leader if I took over the kingdom in bloodshed and murdered the beloved queen. No, no, no I needed to be clever. The wedding was the perfect time to do it. Fewer guards, hundreds of foreign guests flooding into the country, I mean what more could I have asked for? For the past month my spies have been poisoning your food and drink with droplets of an old potion that I found in the deserts of Saracen. You might have noticed your powers weakening" Elsa stared at him in horror. It was true! Over the past month she had felt her ice abilities lessening and it was difficult for her to even produce an icicle or a snowball. Hans chuckled at her look of despair and reached out to stroke her face.
"Yessssss, thats what happens when you trust everybody in your pretty little kingdom" Hans hissed gleefully, moving his hand away. "Anyways, in the chaos of a royal wedding you hardly raised a fuss, to our advantage. When we captured you, you could hardly put up a fight." Elsa silently cursed herself in frustration. How could she have been so oblivious? How could she have just shrugged off the fact that her power was draining. A long silence followed as Hans tended to the small fire heating the chains. Elsa let out a small cry of pain. She was finding it harder and harder to hold off the heat of the chains from burning her hands.
"Where are Anna and Kristof?" she asked tentatively.
"Oh, don't worry about them." Hans snorted in mild disgust "My men captured their honeymoon boat as soon as it was out of sight. They're still alive and will stay alive unless..."
"Unless what?"
"Unless you refuse my request" Hans paused and looked at her "no, let me rephrase that. My order"
"To do what?" Elsa asked coldly.
"To marry me"
