I'm Just The Guy To Do It
Do blondes really have more fun
Or they just easier to spot in the dark?
Girl, I'm just tryin' to cheer you up
I saw you sittin' over here all alone, with a broken heart
It's hurtin' you real bad, wish there was somethin' that I had
I'd hook you up, get you through it
You might need a man to hold you 'til it don't
I'm just the guy to do it
As Niles walked into the bar that Saturday night, he started to wonder why he was even here. Oh, right. He needed to forget. To forget her, and her new boyfriend, and how much he wanted to punch the now ex-boyfriend for all of the things he said to her. That's right, now he remembers.
As he ordered a scotch from the bartender, he saw a distraught looking blond sitting a few stools down. When he got a better look, he noticed it was CC. He took his scotch and moved down.
"You come here often, beautiful?" He asked in a fake macho tone.
"Look, buddy." She said, turning around, "I'm not in the mood, okay, so ju- Niles?"
"The one and only, witch." He tried to cheer her up. It wasn't working. "What are you doing here?"
"Me?" She questioned, "What are you doing here?"
He went to sit down on the barstool, when she spoke, "That seat's taken." She smirked.
"Yeah, by me." He replied, and then answered her question, "I've come here to forget."
"Join the club." She clinked glasses with him.
Is that your pretty boy standin' there at the end of the bar
He's got some nerve
Talkin' loud and drinkin' with a red head ridin' shotgun on his arm
He's such a jerk
I think he's a knucklehead, all those ugly things he said were out of line
Man, he blew it
He might need someone to put him in his place
I'm just the guy to do it
"Oh God!" She groaned quietly.
"What?" He questioned in the same tone.
"See that guy over there?" She nodded to the end of the bar.
He nodded.
"That's Charlie."
"Oh." Niles replied, "The one with the dumb looking redhead?"
"Yeah." She responded, and ordered another brandy.
"He's a jerk." He told her, "You don't need him."
She laughed bitterly, "That's what you think."
He looked confused, "What do you mean?"
"Mummy is driving me nuts with all of the men she keeps throwing at me. As long as I was with Charlie, I didn't need to worry about that. In fact, I'm surprised I haven't got a call about why on earth I broke up with him." CC confided in Niles.
Baby, I can't mend your broken heart
I can't take away your pain
I can't promise you the sun is gonna shine when you're walkin' in the rain
If you need a hero for tonight, I can be the one, let me prove it
Yeah, you just say the magic words and we'll be gone
I'm just the guy to do it
"I'm sorry I can't help." He told her honestly.
"Me too." She replied. Only half joking.
"It's late." Niles told her, "Let me take you home."
She nodded, too tired to object. "Okay."
Baby, I can't mend your broken heart
I can't take away your pain
I can't promise you the sun is gonna shine when you're walkin' in the rain
Oh but if you need a hero for tonight, I can be the one, let me prove it
Yeah, you just say the magic words and we'll be gone
I'm just the guy to do it
Do blondes really have more fun
Or are they just easier to spot in the dark?
