A/N: First off this story is inspired by a naruto fanfic called Quicksilver by uzumaki rakku so if you haven't read that you should, it's a great tragedy. Anywho This story has a similar premise but I want to give credit where it's do.

Sorry this chapter is short but it's to test if people want to read it.
So some world building real quick. First off the fall of Beacon DIDN'T happen and Ozpin isn't dead. That sead Salem and co are still a threat.
This is very important to understand any of the story. Ruby has a second semblance that turns her into a perfect copy of whomever she chooses but she is still new to using it so she can't hold it all the time. Also warning character death in this chapter.
Chapter 1
The stench of blood and gunpowder filled the air as two figures are seen on the remains of a battlefield one laying on the ground and the other crouched over. One was dressed in red and the other in black.
"Wh-Why did you jump in front of me?" The girl who was kneeling had tears streaking her face.
*cough* *cough* "Who would I be if I let you die?" The girl on the ground with a gaping hole in her side.
"Don't leave, please."
"Don't worry we'll meet again, one day…. Find someone to live for and forget about me" And with that the girl laying on the ground let out her final breath.
The airship landed at the docks of Beacon Academy and Blake stepped off loosely holding her weapon Gambol Shroud in her hands. She was pretty much functioning on autopilot. As she walked toward her dorm some people waved while others seemed to pick up on her mood and didn't do anything.
She entered the dorm to see Yang pacing the room and Weiss sitting on her bed nervously tapping her foot. They both turned to Blake as she entered.
"Well?" Weiss asked.
"Cinder is dead, her lackeys weren't there." Blake said monotonously.
"Where is Ruby?" Yang asked slowly. At this point Tears started streaming down Blake's face.
"She J-Jumped in front a blow meant for me." Blake was sobbing quietly as she thought back to it. The other two stared at her in disbelief and followed in the crying not long after. Out in the hall people walking by could hear them crying their eyes out.
Hours later Blake excused herself to the bathroom to take a shower and prepare herself for the next day knowing that the next day wouldn't be the best and Ozpin would want to know what had happened.
Blake got out of the shower and dried herself off with a towel she went to the mirror and wiped away the steam. As she did her form flickered and she turned into her true self. Dead silver eyes stared back at her.
A/N: Just to clarify Ruby is using her second Semblance to appear as Blake even though Blake is dead. For those confused why she is doing this it's because she doesn't want Blake to be forgot. Admittedly this isn't the best or strongest reason and it does copy from Quicksilver but I just love the story so much. I hope you enjoyed and the first chapter is so short to test to see if people even want to read this story.
