Marvel

Was not the sharpest tool in the shed. But he knew his statistics.

He was rated 5-1.

He received a score of 9.

And he wanted to win. He believed he could win.

Be amazed – Be astonished – Be surprised

He was only four years of age when he found a stick and killed his pet. His parents were astonished.

He had stabbed the dog right in the jugular – perfectly. His parents were amazed.

He asked for a spear the next week. His parents weren't surprised.

Wonder – Stare

He was only twelve years of age when he attracted the attention of the trainers. He wondered why they stared so much at him.

Gape

He was seventeen years of age when he volunteered for the games. His sister had gone into shock and had only gazed at him blankly during their saying of farewells. She never figured out that he was gone.
