Author note: I do not own Count Cain: Godchild. Nor do I own the song that inspired this fic, 'Under the Darkness' by C.G mix. Well, actually the UTAUloid Kasane Ted singing the song on Youtube was what inspired it, actually, not the original song.
Me? Write CainxRiff fic and not involving Cassandra at all? What's going on!? (insert swirly eyed face of confusion here) Usually I write stuff involving Cassandra Gladstone and stuff...This is my first attempt at a purely CainxRiff fic/drabble, so...please. Don't. Flame.
Warning: Yaoi (duh, CainxRiff), possible spoilers for certain arcs in Godchild.
Constructive Criticism would be great, and I hope you guys read, review and enjoy! Thanks!
Under the Darkness
Cain Hargreaves. The Earl who Courts Death. Poison collector. Ladies man, practically one who flirted so much with the women. Dazzling, sparkling golden-green eyes, accompanied by the raven black hair and fair porcelain skin. So beautiful that no one wanted to approach him. So beautiful that everyone was scared of him in some way.
Yes, even Riffael Raffit, his loyal manservant, felt frightened at times. His master's behaviour was not like most men, who were so prim and proper. No, his language could always be somewhat vulgar, prideful, unafraid to approach any girl who could be completely vulnerable to him like a moth attracted to a flame.
Cain could have anyone he ever wanted to love him, because of seductive incubus he seemed to be. He didn't choose the prettiest opera singer. He didn't choose the wealthiest woman in high society. He didn't choose the shy girl with 'new money.' He didn't choose someone else's tutor.
He chose his faithful manservant, the one who was by his side ever since their paths crossed in life. Sodomy was punishable and shamed by high society, but apparently Cain never really cared that much about it.
Riff didn't really know if his master really was interested in him in such a way. Under the darkness, the two were in such passionate embraces, hidden from the view of everyone in existence except for each other.
Was every kiss a bluff?
Was every tender touch a mockery?
Was every "I love you" a lie?
The marks Cain put upon Riff were at places where they could be easily hidden, for they had to be careful about high society watching their every move. Cain does this because...because Riff has always been important to him. Always. He can be more relaxed around the ladies, because causing scandals can be fun, but around Riff he knows he has to be careful because he definitely doesn't wish to be seperated from him anytime soon.
Cain will never wish to be separated from Riff, and vice versa. That seems to be how it always will be, even if they have to hide those forbidden thoughts and feelings and actions from the world around them.
