Juliet knows she's the reason Lassiter and Shawn are dating. She pushed and shoved and meddled and intervened, so it was only a matter of time. She wanted them to be happy and the only way for them to be happy was with each other. She considers them her biggest accomplishment
She loves to watch them interact, the way Shawn insists on being flirtatious and affectionate in public while Carlton much prefers the subtle barely noticeable displays. It's fun to watch the hidden smiles and discrete glances. It's funny when Carlton drags Shawn into a closet or record room when he thinks no one is looking. It's cute. They're cute.
Shawn is over the moon, constantly smiling and laughing. He's taken a bit of a more serious edge, enough to make him seem less like a child but not so much that he's completely changed either.
Carlton Lassiter is relaxed for once. Despite what she's sure are his best efforts he's starting to smile more and pull his gun less. He's confident, and a little more laid back, while still retaining his stoic image.
Working cases has become a lot easier, with Lassiter and Shawn working much easier with each other. They're solving murders and robberies twice as fast and the SBPD is suddenly much more efficient.
However despite all the good that's come from her efforts, Juliet's heart aches. It's not that she's unhappy with her work or her result, but a part of her is saddened with every secret smile, stolen kisses, and flirtatious dialogue. She loves Shawn, has for a long time and it's hard to see him happy with someone else. It was easier before, when he was single and she could indulge herself in his flirting, ignoring who he really wanted. It was selfish of her, she knew that, but it didn't make it any less true. She may love seeing them happy, but a part of her dies a little every time.
A/n This is kinda the story of my life. Drop me a review. SHASSIE
