Annabelle POV
I smiled, looking from Edward to Bella and back again. "This is interesting," I mutter, winking at Bella as I rolled from the bed to the floor. Why? I don't know, maybe something to do. "Because I'm a Cullen and you're from the reservation?" Edward asked, still holding Bella's hand in his, tracing the veins on her wrist with his finger. He didn't even look at me, as I thumped down on the ground. I crawled over and began to look through Bella's books.
Obviously he was reading my mind… I pulled walls up around my mind so that I could have time to explain myself. "No, it's not that," I said, flipping through Wuthering Heights. "What's so interesting then?" Bella asked, still two steps behind what we were all talking about. "Well, I started my freshman year this year… in a boring school, in a boring place and the most interesting thing was you and the rest of you're family," I said, shrugging my shoulders.
"Really?" Edward asked, finally looking over at me and smiling. I rolled my eyes at him, turning up my lips in a growl. "Yah and you know it. It had nothing to do with Billy… of course, when I asked them if they knew you guy's I was instantly hushed," I told him, shrugging my shoulders again. "That's not a surprise," Bella interjected. I smiled and nodded, standing back up and going over to sit on the desk chair.
"It was for me at the time. Anyway, what I meant was I'd always wondered what it would be like to be part of your little crowd. I never thought I'd actually get to know you or Rory, Alice, Jasper. The other's thought I was crazy," I said, laughing at the last part. "They were jealous that you would actually dare," Edward said, grinning. He spoke as though it was a fact… gosh, did he know everything. "Yes," he responded, chuckling slightly.
"Okay, Mr. I know everyone better than they probably do, did you know that before Bella Swan came around we used to think you were gay?" I snapped back, grinning in satisfaction. Bella looked at me for a second, looked to Edward, then burst out laughing; falling back on the bed. "Unfortunately," Edward sighed, watching the convulsing Bella.
