A yelp was all the warning they had before they heard something fly through their window. Crow and Jack were downstairs instantly and immediately made a beeline for Yusei, who was standing in shock, staring at the hole in the window.
"Yusei, are you alright?" Crow pried his brother's hands away from his face, where they had been clasped to his mouth and examined him for cuts. Akiza, the twins, Mina, and Trudge reached the bottom of the stairs and took in the rare sight of the savior of the Satellite, flustered and trying to assure the former King the thief that he was all right.
"What happened?" Akiza, Leo, and Luna looked around the floor for what had busted the window. They didn't venture too far into the room, though, as they still didn't know what had been thrown.
"I would say that someone who obviously isn't a fan decided to send a threat," Trudge replied, going into detective mode and assessing everything, "but there doesn't appear to be any glass inside." He turned, along with everyone else, towards the still silent and now blushing Yusei.
" . . ."
"Yusei."
"It was an accident."
Everybody stared in surprise. Yusei accidently took out a window? Crow and Jack, however, looked mildly annoyed if anything. "Elaborate." Jack crossed his arms, reminding the onlookers that, no matter how much they may not act like it, the blonde and Yusei were the oldest and youngest siblings.
The teen glanced up, obviously embarrassed, and then ducked his head. "There was a spider." He muttered.
"A spider? You are going to face Zora's wrath, all because of a spider?" Crow looked like he was fighting down laughter, while Trudge was filling this little bit of information away for future use. Just incase.
"It was on a wrench, and I didn't see it until it was almost on my hand."
At that moment, they heard the voice of their landlady, obviously irate, outside. "Jack or Crow! Whichever of you did this, get out here now!"
"Why does she immediately think it was one of us?" The red-head grumbled.
"Maybe because it usually is?" Akiza pointed out, leading the others back upstairs. She didn't want to humiliate Yusei any more by having all his friends watch him get chewed out.
Yyyyy
Zora shifted her glare from the glass on the ground, to the door when it opened. Jack and Crow stepped through it, the first looking like he had better things to do, while the second was openly laughing. Between them, being pulled along by his arms, was Yusei.
"Okay, before you say anything, we had nothing to do with it, and he's entmophobic." Crow and Jack simultaneously pushed their brother forward and stepped back to watch, not nearly as kind as the rest of their friends.
Zora, unsure of how to react to the knowledge that Yusei was the culprit, just stood in shocked silence.
" . . . I'm sorry." Yusei tried, "I'll fix it. There was a huge spider and I just panicked."
Zora, seeing how apologetic he was, couldn't find it in herself to remain angry. "Oh, Yusei, that window was chipped anyway. If you'll replace it, I'll give you some bug spray, alright?" She then turned her attention to her other tenants. "You two seemed pretty eager to see Yusei in trouble. And you wonder why I keep such a close eye on you." She turned and walked back to her shop, secretly trying not to laugh at the pair's shocked and betrayed expressions.
Once inside, she resumed her dusting, only to come across a rather large beetle. They got in from time to time, and she was pretty much used to them, but before she could squish it, she paused. 'I wonder if I could get anything else fixed.'
Yyyyy
So, I just had to do this. I do like Zora, but she just seems like the type to have a little fun at her tenants' expenses on occasion. Please Review!
