"Talvas? Talvas!" Rubbing tired eyes, Talvas once again awoke to find Neloth standing before him, distorted by a large ball of light cast in his face. With a groan, he sat up in his bed, smacking the light away and dispersing it like smoke. Pointless, really, as the Master Wizard was quick to uncross his arms and cast a much larger and brighter source of light out of his reach. "What ...?" As Talvas shielded his eyes from the glow, he hissed under his breath, and his superior was for once considerate enough to disperse the light himself. The Telvanni wizard dispelled his magic, and was quick to begin undoing his robes. "I need your assistance, now." Well and truly awake, Talvas sighed and scowled up at his master. It was late into the night, and he'd already spent the day trying desperately to fix several dozen broken staffs with no result. As he readied himself to stand, Neloth placed a firm hand on his shoulder, pushing him back down onto his back. "No, stay down, you don't need to stand up for this." Neloth stated, sitting on the edge of his bed and rummaging around in his pockets. As he pulled out a small and familiar glass bottle, his Apprentice flinched. "Oh come on, no, I'm not doing this again. The last time you left me paralyzed for two- no, three days." Talvas flushed, the pain and maddening discomfort of the last 'experiment' still fresh in his mind. "I want to help, I do, but-" "Oh shut up Talvas, it wasn't that bad," Neloth sneered as he leant over him, placing his hands either side of him. "There was a little mix-up with the amount of Netch Jelly in the original mixture, but I've fixed it, I swear." "Master, I really-" Before the young Dunmer could finish his sentence, Neloth was quick to press a hand against trembling lips. "Silence, you fool. I know exactly what I'm doing, I wouldn't be trying again if I wasn't absolutely sure it would work." Talvas didn't want this, he never did. Neloth took him on as his Apprentice, the young mage was simply there to learn, and occasionally help out in return. Talvas, of course, never expected to become a test subject. He never expected to be drugged. He never expected to be studied. More importantly, he never expected to end up in a strange, and painstakingly secretive relationship with the man he'd looked up to for so long.
