Written for Potions Assignment 1.

The sound of them laughing while he hid in the shadows was like being dunked in boiling water. Lily wasn't supposed to be there with James Potter. This had been their place once, then when she stopped talking to him; he'd watch her come here night after night to study since then.

She was everything to him, and he knew she felt the same, but she didn't know it yet that's why he had to let her believe he was keeping his distance.

Severus knew she would overreact if she was aware that he watched her, trail behind her to see where she was going, then to follow her just to keep her safe.

But she was happy to have James Potter follow her everywhere, have him fawn over her seeing this made him angry. He felt betrayed, but he was willing to forgive Lily because she didn't know that she belonged to him yet and knew once she did that she would feel guilty about ever letting James near her.

When she knew that she his, something he'd known for a long time, he'd get her to show James that he meant absolutely nothing to her then he'd kill him not for the years he'd made his life hell because there were very people he could count who hadn't, but because he dared to turn his sweet Lily against him.

Before he killed him, he would make James beg his forgiveness, and maybe he would make Lily watch just so she understood what happened to those that tried to take her away from him.

Then she'd realize how much he truly loved her what he was willing to do for her, and she would love him for it more than she had ever loved anything, and his life would be perfect.

Everything that was damaged inside him could be healed by her and just because she didn't know that now as she smiles at James Potter didn't mean she wouldn't know it soon.
