"It mighta been the saddest thing I've ever seen."

Danny chuckled as he and Don sat at the bar. "I heard you gave Montana a hard time about it, though. And that she gave back as good as she got."

Flack nodded. "Better. Caused a scene in the middle of the street. Everybody was lookin' at me like I was the scum of the universe."

"You mighta deserved it. Just a little bit." He paused, taking a drink. "So why do they do it?" He asked finally. "Are they just that desperate?"

"Don't know, Dan. Maybe they found somethin' with those dolls that they couldn't find with real women."

"So…desperate."

"Or they just hadn't found that woman yet. The one that gets them. The one that doesn't dismiss 'em or look at 'em funny."

"The one, huh?" Danny scoffed.

Flack shrugged, taking a drink and not meeting his friend's eyes. "Yeah, I guess."

Danny watched him carefully for a moment. "You haven't found her yet, though. 'The One.' And I don't see you bondin' with some Barbie."

"But it's hard bein' alone, Dan. I can't say I don't understand how they feel."

He nodded. "So why do we keep doin' it? Why do we keep takin' women out and buyin' 'em dinner, just to have to do it all over again with someone new a few weeks or months later?"

Flack opened his mouth to answer, but it turned into a smile as he saw Stella walk into the bar. Throwing some money down on the table, he clapped his friend on the back.

"'Cause it's all worth it when we find her."
