"Happy birthday," Lucy said cheerfully to a yawning Lee as he walked lazily through the kitchen doors, in his blue and white stripped pyjamas. "Thanks for reminding me," he replied sulkily as he opened the fridge door and peered inside of it."Awww, are we grumpy because we're getting old?" Lucy asked in a tone that would be used to speak to a baby.
"Is that why you're always grumpy?" Lucy sarcastically grinned back at him as Lee poured himself a glass of orange juice and sat down on the stool next to the island. "Do you want breakfast?" Lucy asked Lee with her back facing him as she rummaged through the fridge. "Umm,what are you making?" Lee asked curiously, flicking through the newspaper.
"Full English," Lucy replied placing the ingredients out on the counter.
"It must be my birthday. Go on then."
"I knew you wouldn't resist," Lucy began cooking the different elements on the stove, as Lee watched her every movement. "What are you planning on doing today?" Lucy asked snapping Lee instantly out of his thoughts. "Nothing really, might get drunk. But that's as far as birthday celebrations' go," he answered her question nonchalantly. Lucy placed the food on the red plates and handed it over to him, before sitting on the silver stool opposite him. "Thanks."
"No problem," they begun eating their food in silence, as they both hungrily tucked into their meals.
