(The Armin and Jean side story to Comforting Arms (: Enjoy!)

Armin's shoulders hunched and he stared blankly at the ground. His mind wandered back towards the dead bodies and his tears fell silently down his face. He began to shake and he curled up against the wall.

Jean watched Armin slowly go to pieces and it ate at his heart. Jean walked over to Armin and wrapped his arms around his body and put his head on Armin's. He did his best to ease his pain by whispering little words of comfort.

"Shh.. Armin it's okay. It's going to be okay."

Armin clutched Jean tightly and buried his head in Jean's chest. Jean rubbed soothing circles on Armin's back until Armin stopped crying. Armin looked up at Jean and his face was flushed.

"Thank you Jean."

Jean felt weird, he thought Armin was really cute. Jean released Armin and got up awkwardly.

"Um… yeah, you're welcome…"

Jean left quickly. The sight of Armin's slightly teary eyes looking up at him made his heart clench. He's a guy! Get a grip! Jean walked into the bathroom and started washing his face, but no matter what he did, Armin was still on his mind. Jean sighed and went to his bed to lay down. He covered his face with his hands. He couldn't shake off his emotions.

Armin walked in the room to find Jean napping on his bed. Armin smiled at Jean's cute sleeping face. He knelt down next to Jean's bed and took a moment to really look at Jean. His light brown hair, his long eyelashes, his soft looking lips… before Armin realized it, he was leaning over Jean. With trembling lips, Armin leaned in more and pressed his lips to Jean's. Jean's eyes fluttered open and Armin staggered back in embarrassment.

"A-Armin? What are you doing?"

Armin turned bright red before he panicked and ran out the door. Jean got up out of bed and ran after him.

"Armin! Stop running!"

Armin kept running until he couldn't run anymore. Jean caught up to him and held on to Armin's arm so he couldn't escape.

"Jean, let go. I know you're mad, just forget what I did just now!"

Jean's brown eyes met Armin's blue ones.

"I don't want to forget it."

Armin shook his head.

"I don't understand…"

Jean looked at Armin with a sad expression.

"I like you a lot, so much that I don't know what to do anymore."

"Jea-"

Jean tipped Armin's chin up and kissed him. It was soft and warm and Armin's head was reeling. Armin reached up and put his hands behind Jean's neck. Jean pulled away and looked away from Armin in embarrassment.

"I like you a lot too Jean."

Armin smiled his angelic smile and Jean smiled back. He held Armin close and let his mind wander to a future of the two of them together. Maybe someday they could express their love freely, but for now, this was enough.
