A/N: After writing two Les Miserables fics, I decided to write a Wicked fic based on my favorite song from Tangled. I WILL GO BACK TO WRITING FOR THE RENT SECTION – I haven't been inspired to write anything RENT related, but I have a few things cooking.
Summary: AU: Based on my favorite scene from Tangled. Glinda was a princess, locked away in a tower, that is until Fiyero came to save her. Now, on Glinda's eighteenth birthday, he takes her to see the floating lights, which she has only seen from her tower window. Set to the song I See the Light from Tangled.

Fiyero smiled as he led Glinda to an awaiting boat. He climbed in and guided her into the boat. He then sat down and rowed to the middle of the lake. It was Glinda's eighteenth birthday and Fiyero had found a special way to celebrate: she had wanted to see the floating lights and Fiyero had made it happen.
"Thank you for bringing me here." Glinda thanked Fiyero.
"You are more than welcome, princess." Fiyero told her. Fiyero stared at her for a while, her long blond hair glistening in the moonlight, her green eyes searching the sky. She felt him staring at her and blushed.
Suddenly, Glinda got up from her seat, nearly capsizing them. Her mouth was a wide 'o' as she watched the first lantern come towards them. She rested her head on her hands, not blinking as millions of other lanterns filled the sky with glistening light.
"All those days
Watching from the windows
All those years
Outside looking in
All that time
Never even knowing
Just how blind I've been
Now I'm here
Blinking in the starlight

Suddenly I see

Now that I see you." Glinda sang. She returned to her seat and looked at the handsome man sitting in front of her. He smiled at her and took her hands in his.
Fiyero and Glinda released their lanterns into the sky.

I'm where I'm meant to go." Fiyero sang, not taking his eyes off the beautiful girl he'd ever seen.
"And at last I see the light." The two of them sang. Glinda leaned forward and raised a falling lantern up towards the sky.
"And it's like the fog has lifted." Fiyero crooned, smiling at Glinda.
"And at last, I see the light." The duo sang.
"And it's like the sky is new." Glinda sang, not taking her eyes off the beautiful sky.
"And it's warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted
All at once
Everything is different
Now that I see you
Now that I see you." The two of them sang. Fiyero caught Glinda's gaze and held it. He then leaned in and kissed her. Glinda cradled Fiyero's face in her hands as she kissed him back.
This was the best birthday present anyone could ask for. Glinda was lucky she knew Fiyero and would be forever grateful for him being in her life.
