It had been a long day and the night that fallowed had not been any better. It had been filled with running and Sherlock's comments. John was absolutely exhausted, although it was not until eleven thirty at night that he truly noticed himself, although he has a feeling Sherlock had been aware of this the entire time. He was in a nice restaurant sitting across from Sherlock watching the thief that had escaped their grasp many times that night. The restaurant was quiet and John continuously caught himself before falling asleep, it also has at stage at the front as if some band should be playing. The thief was with a woman, according to Sherlock the woman was going to buy the stolen gold statue. This was a quit a boring case. Sherlock had only taken it because Mycroft was forcing him, although it ended with Mycroft bribing Sherlock with who knows what. But in all fairness he had no choice after Sherlock pick pocked Anderson and Lestrade and annoying half of the Scotland Yard bribery was what it came to. John, after thinking the night over, returned his gaze to the pale detective sitting across from him. Sherlock was staring intently at John his icy blue eyes looking though him, no doubt trying to find an interesting way to get the small museum piece back, the man captured and entertaining himself in the proses. Slow music brought john out of his own thoughts. The couple rose up from their chairs and walked to the dance floor hand in hand.
"Get up" Sherlock hissed quietly to john.
"What?" the normally alert doctor asked. Without missing a beat Sherlock rose out of his chair and gracefully walked over and offered his pale hand. John looked up to see Sherlock staring at him, feeling his face blush John looked at Sherlock's hand as if to ask if he knew what he was doing. Deciding that Sherlock had a good reason for what he was doing he took Sherlock's hand and was roughly pulled out of his chair and led to the dance floor. They received many strange looks as they walked up to the platform with the other dancers, but as expected Sherlock ignored them completely. With Sherlock leading they started waltzing. Their body's coming inches apart from one another as they moved back and forth.
"Relax" Sherlock whispered as John stumbled.
"What are you doing" John asked fully awake now that he had been forcibly brought up to the dance floor.
"You are doing fine" Sherlock whispered as they turned again coming closer to the thief with every move.
Slowly as If in a trance they fell into rhythm with the music moving as one. It became clear that Sherlock meant to pickpocket the man. Moving close suddenly Sherlock let go of john. John, losing his balance, quickly fell to the ground and Sherlock took the stature out of the man's pocket. Glaring at Sherlock, John regained his balance and they began dancing again this time with John in the lead. Few dancers were left, including the thief. But John and Sherlock took no notice as they continued moving back and forth their eyes locked together and their hands clasped in an unbreakable link.
"We really should be going" john said breaking the silence.
"I don't see why" Sherlock answered.
"He will realize the statue is gone" John said.
"And Lestrade is waiting outside, has been for at least an hours now" Sherlock responded.
"And you let him wait" John said disapproval in his voice.
"I was a bit preoccupied" Sherlock said as if it was some kind of an excuse.
It was a little short but I really wanted to write something like this. Also if you could leave a review that would make me very happy! Thank you for reading.
