I, King Darius the Mede, ruler of Babylonia, do hereby decree that in every dominion of my realm, all people shall fear and tremble before the God of my renowned second-in-command, Daniyyel, for he alone is the living God, who shall ever remain steadfast. Great is his kingdom, which shall never be destroyed, for his dominion shall never end.
Being awestruck by his miraculous power, I have taken it upon myself to proclaim the greatness of Daniyyel's God throughout the nations, that all who dwell within my realm may also know of his glory. Thus do I present my personal account:
