Your name is Sollux Captor, and you are currently on a date with your matesprit, Eridan Ampora, manning up to do something that you simply do not have the guts for.

You had taken him on this date feeling confident, but now you just feel like slinking away and never contemplating this again. But you have to do it took him here, to this pond, because you know he loves it here. The sun is just starting to set, making the red blanket spread out beneath both of you glow a brighter shade of red.

He's looking at you curiously, and you take his hand, smiling. "Tho, ED... What do you think about Human Marriage?" You ask the question casually, as if you were just starting a conversation on a random topic.

"I think it's... strange, i guess." He doesn't seem to notice anything odd, staring out at the vivid colours of the setting sun over the water, but your heart sinks a bit.

"Like... thtrange as in bad?" You ask, still keeping your tone light and casual.

"No," He shakes his head. "Strange in a good way. Kinda cute if you ask me."

"Oh.. I thee." You put your hand in your pocket thoughtfully, enclosing your fingers around the small box.

A look of realization comes over Eridans face, and you know he's probably figured it out. He fidgets slightly, nervously, his hands clasped together as he pretends not to have noticed.

This is it.

The moment where you either get your heart broken, or become happier then you've ever been.

You get up and kneel on one knee in front of him, taking out the small box. Both of his hands fly to his mouth, and he stares as you open the box, smiling the widest of smiles, but on the inside, you're terrified.

"Eridan Ampora..." For the first time in who knows how long, you use his full name. "Will you marry me?"

Eridan looks down at you, one hand over his heart as he gives a nervous, shaky reply, his voice happier than you've ever heard it. "Y-Yes!" you smile widely as he attacks you with a hug, wiping violet-tinted tears out of his eyes. You laugh with releif, hugging him tightly around the waist, his arms around your neck.

He nuzzles you, nearly sobbing out of happiness. "C-cod!"

"I love you! God damn..." You take his left hand gently, slipping the ring onto his ring finger. Perfect fit.

Eridan smiles, rubbing his eyes with his right hand, and starts showering your face in kisses. "I lov-ve you too!" A soft purr starts somewhere in his chest, and his fins flare as he smiles even wider (if that's possible anymore), still blushing a deep, warm violet.

You allow your face to be showered in kisses. "God, you're tho adorable and fuck!" you peck him on the lips happily, nuzzling him.

"W-why thankyou, Sol." If possible, his blush deepens as he touches his forehead gently with yours.

"I may or may not have taken one of your rings while you were sleeping a few weeks ago to get it sized, and then had to sneak back in to not wake you up, so you wouldn't get suspicious of anything." You grin at him slightly.

"You... You sneaky bastard!" He laughs happily.

"Maybe... but i'm your thneaky bathtard." you grin wider, kissing him.

"And i'm your magically scientific merman." He laughs, pulling you closer. You kiss him sweetly on the lips.

You have never been happier in your life.

Your name is Sollux Captor, and you are now engaged to your Matesprit, a magically scientific merman who you love with everything you have.
