"Well have it your way then!" Scorpius shouted, slamming a door in the flat he shared with Rose.
They'd had an argument that got rather heated about why he was hardly home anymore and Scorpius took it that she wanted him to leave for good. He stomped towards the front door, grabbing the handle to jerk it open, when she stopped him, turning him around quickly. They stared at each other angrily for a few moments, before she slapped him.
His eyes widened in surprise and he clutched his cheek. "What the hell was that for?"
"For trying to leave every thing we have behind." She turned on her heel and sat down on the couch.
"That's what you wanted, isn't it?"
"I never said to leave. I was asking you why you were always gone!"
"You made it sound like you hated me and you wanted me to leave forever, Rose! So yeah, I was leaving."
"I never fucking said that I hated you! You are always gone. Do you even know what yesterday was, while you were off doing who knows what?"
"I was working! Do you want money or not?"
"Why couldn't you have called? Any thing! I work too, but I've never missed THAT for you."
"Missed what?" He asked, glaring down at her.
"My damn birthday."
"I got you a damn present Rose, but you yelled at me and I just don't feel like giving you it."
"I yelled at you because you... you know what never mind."
She put her head in her hands. "No, tell me."
"I yelled at you because you came home two hours later than when your shift ended. On my 21st birthday."She didn't look up at him, but a tear trickled down her cheek.
"I had to work overtime, Rose." He said, his voice softening.
"Again, no fucking phone call." She said, wiping away the tear.
"I can't exactly use a phone in the ministry of magic, Rose."
"Owl, there were things you could have done. But it doesn't matter now." She said looking up at him.
"Rose, stop. Do you want to know why I didn't tell you? Or why I had to work overtime?"
She didn't answer, just looked over across the room. She was beginning to shut down, become unresponsive.
"Because I had to pay off the debt." He took her silence as a positive answer.
"Debt to what? We haven't bought any thing big lately." She said confused.
"I did. It was supposed to be a birthday gift but then you yelled at me and..."
She sighed, "Scorpius, I'm tired of riddles."
He took out a small box from his jacket and handed it to her. She looked towards him, then slowly took the box out of his hand.
"Scorpius...what is this?" She was shaking slightly.
"Just open it."
She opened it slowly, and inside there was a... Ring. It was encrusted with diamonds and there was a large purple diamond in the middle. He looked eyes filled with tears, and she launched herself at him, giving him the biggest hug ever. He caught her, surprised.
"I love it, thank you." She whispered.
"I... I... You're welcome."
She leaned up and softly kissed his lips. He kissed her back, pulling back.
"It was supposed to- Never mind. It's not important."
"No, tell me. It must have been important."
"It was supposed to be an engagement ring." He said very quietly.
"It still can be" She whispered back. "
"Are you sure? I don't want to push anything, Rose..."
"I want to be yours forever Scorpius" She said quietly.
He smiled brightly, and knelt down on one knee. "Rose Weasely, will you make me the happiest man alive, and do the honor of marrying me?"
She whispered a yes, and knelt down in front of him. Kissing him softly.
