Damon grinned as he approached his brother.
"What are you so happy about?" Stefan asked curiously.
"I have good news for you, brother, about Katherine." Damon announced. His very human brother just stared at him curiously. "You can have her for yourself; I've found someone else who likes me, not us."
"You're kidding me, who? And what's with that huge ring?"
"Her name is Elizabeth; you'll meet her at the Founders' Celebration tonight and . . . she turned me so we could be together."
"And you're happy? Even if she's not Katherine?"
"Of course! She's got some serious power under her belt and she's amazing. Liz's gorgeous, Stefan. I can't wait for you and Katherine to meet her. I'll see you tonight."
"You, too, Damon . . . I guess . . ." Stefan said to his brother's back as said brother left, somewhat confused about this mystery girl.
Stefan spotted his brother as soon as he stepped inside of the mansion for the party. He was with an absolutely stunning woman in a red dress. The dress was a corsette on top-like all women wore-that was a bold red with black accents covering it. Her hair was black as midnight on a new moon and curly like Katherine's. Her eyes were a bright grey that seemed like they could stare a person straight throught to their soul.
The major difference between her and Katherine was that this woman, this Elizabeth, had a presence that screamed of noble birth even from across the room. Damon's eyes seemed to laugh with happiness as he spoke to the woman like they had never done for Katherine.
"Is this her?" Katherine asked as soon as they approached.
"Katherine, Stefan, this is Elizabeth." Damon introduced her.
"Oh, I know her. She and I go way back." Katherine growled.
"How nice to see you again, Kat." Elizabeth sneered, narrowing her eyes at the other vampiress.
"Liz."
"Don't get that attitude with me; I've got centuries on you, child. I didn't steal Damon from you."
"She's right; I've simply found someone better." Damon agreed, grinning cruely.
"What's happened to you, brother?" Stefan asked, confused. "You've never been this cruel before."
"I've helped him come to terms with who he truely is." Liz smiled, displaying a pair of razor sharp fangs. "And I love him for it."
"You see, she understood who I really am when you only pretended to care, Katherine."
"I taught you not to play with your food when I found you starving in an ally in Paris, you look at what you've been doint with these poor Salvatore boys. At least now I've gotten one of them out of your clutches and I know what love feels like." Liz chided.
"And he feels the same way." Damon responded, smiling. "It's been fun, guys, but I think Liz and I are leaving Mystic Falls after this."
"I just wish that Stefan had half the personality you do, Damon. There awould actually be hope for separating him from Kat's claws that way." Liz stated, ignoring the fact that the other couple was standing right there.
"He kissed hwer deeply for a second before laughing. "I can only be greatful that someone better found me before I became a groveling fool."
"Looks like I win . . . Kat. I get the better, stronger brother."
"Have fun as a slave, Stefan." Damon grinned cruely before both vampires turned and left.
