A/N: This is another weird little Spock and Uhura drabble. Just as a clarification--I KNOW only Vulcans can do the Vulcan nerve pinch, I just thought this would be funny.
Disclaimer: I still don't own Star Trek. (Although when I rule the world, I will *insert evil laugh here*!!!)
Practice
"Why?!"
"Well, as many humans would say, it's a trade secret."
"Is it some mental thing, is that it? You have to have some sort of telekinetic connection in order to do it?"
"No."
"It's ineffable? So deep you can't describe it?"
"Not at all."
"Then what?"
"Listen. The concept of the attack is very simple. You just need to know where the pressure point is."
"So I should be asking a doctor?"
"With regards to the fact that I am currently very busy, yes."
Nyota Uhura grinned. "So. Who should I practice my Vulcan nerve pinch on? You?"
"Another human saying appropriately pertaining to this matter is: 'Over my dead body.'"
"If I am to learn how to do it right, I need to be able to practice and to know I'm doing it right."
Spock sighed grudgingly as he began to reorganize a stack of papers on his desk. "Well, if you must, I would suggest Cadet Kirk."
Uhura stared at her instructor, bemused. "You're serious."
"In all secrecy, yes."
The cadet's grin widened. "This'll be fun," she said, "Thank you, sir." And she left.
What have I done? Spock thought, staring after her as she did.
