James was waiting by the bus stop on this glorious Monday morning. Well, it was glorious to someone who didn't spend their morning listening to their parents fight or not being able to sleep the night before. James looked down the road and saw that big, yellow bus coming towards him. Here we go again…he thought. He didn't want to go to school, didn't want to be made fun of, and he didn't even want to see his best friend, Leonard- his only friend. Leonard has been his best friend since elementary school. Speaking of schools, their school was one named Lexington High School. If you have a knack for social studies, you'll know that Lexington is a town in Virginia. The reason James hated school so much because no one talked to him. He was an outcast, but teachers didn't look at him the same way the other students do. He got good grades, and played drums in the school band. His circle of friends only included Leonard, and one of Leonard's friends, Julie. Julie didn't talk to James, but once in a while she said "hello" to him in the halls. James smiled or said something back, only rarely. James had dark brown hair and pale skin. He was smart, but shy. Leonard, on the other hand, was outgoing and funny. They became friends in third grade when James moved to Virginia. Leonard was the only child to talk to him, or even show an interest in James. One day, James remembered that Leonard chose him to be his partner for a project. That's when they instantly became friends. That day, they sat together at lunch and talked about James old school. At his old school, James was a well-liked kid, even for a second grader. What happened, you might ask? Was it the fact that the day before school ended in his second year, James' dad told him it would be his last day at that school forever? Or was it maybe because they left for Virginia the next day? Do you know the answer yet? Well I'll tell you, it's a combination of both, not to forget the fact that the only friends James would ever have went to that , that happened more than 7 years ago-back to reality. James was now sitting on the bus, plugged into his iPod, sitting with a freshman that went to his high school. Remembering the good memories of his used-to-be friends, someone tapped James on the shoulder. He looked up to see none other than Brandon O'Dell, a student in his grade. "We're at school, dude." Said Brandon, and walked away. James looked out the window to see that Brandon was right- they were at school. He gathered his belongings from the seat and headed off into the school. He walked passed Leonard's locker, but Leonard wasn't to school yet. Instead of waiting around, James dropped his books off into his locker, and went into his first period class, Science.
