A/N: Hello there! This is my first Kuroshitsuji fic based off of a really random role-play me and my friend did. We do seem to have an uncanny ability to torture characters in odd ways...oh well, enjoy!

Claude always considered himself calm. Collected. Virtually indestructible. So how could it be possible for this to happen?

How in the world could Claude Faustus become mortally afraid of doors?

Okay, so let's back things up. He hadn't always been afraid. Why would he? Doors were doors and that was the case until Sebastian Michaelis came crashing into the Trancy Estate that one night.

Y'see Alois had kidnapped Ciel and was holding him hostage in his room. And fate would have it that just as poor unsuspecting Claude came walking past the front entrance the other demon butler had to kick in the door. The door came flying off its hinges and landed with an almighty crash on top of the Trancy butler. Sebastian, too caught up in the act of retrieving his master, did nothing to help and merely charged on through the mansion until he found Ciel and then went home.

But that didn't trigger the phobia. That, it seemed, was only an isolated incident. Until Claude tried for revenge, of course.

That day Alois Trancy was at the Phantomhive's for tea and Claude was given the "day off". But he wasn't really taking the day off, he was plotting revenge for the broken arm and ribs he'd gotten from the door kick Sebastian had done.

So he snuck into the Phantomhive's kitchen and waited for the butler to come and make some tea. Then he pounced.

There was a lot of confusion and smashing of things, concluding with a particularly loud bang and Faustus shouting, "NOT AGAIN!"

Sebastian walked out of the room, unharmed, with a tea tray in hand.

"Sebastian, what took you so long and what was all that noise?" Ciel demanded.

"There was an unexpected…visitor in the kitchen, milord."

"Did you get rid of it?" Earl Phantomhive questioned.

"Erm, not exactly RID of it but-"

"WAS IT A CAT?"

"NO."

"Good…"

After that Claude was getting a little edgy around doors, but nothing too serious. But as they say, third time's a charm.

Claude was determined to get back at Sebastian, so he decided to throw another sneak attack at him. And of course, it failed:

Sebastian unceremoniously dumped an unconscious Claude onto the floor of the foyer.

Ciel looked at his butler, exasperated, "What did you do?"

The demon smiled, "I had to hit him with another door to make him come quietly. He was attempting another surprise attack as revenge, I suppose."

"It looks like you killed him…"

"Not killed, my lord, but certainly broke."

A few hours later Claude awoke back at the Trancy Manor in a full body cast with Alois bending over him, giggling, "Oh Claude, you're so silly. I didn't think demons really had a weakness, let alone it being a door!"

The next morning Earl Trancy woke up to find that every door in the mansion had been replaced with long strings of beads. "CLAUDE-!"

But for Claude it didn't matter how angry his master was, as long as it meant they were as door-free as humanly (and demonically) possible.
