Triple drabble based on the 2nd episode of Galactik Football Season 3.
Years ago, when they had played for the Akillian Team together, Artegor had needed Aarch. He'd watched him, followed him. Contrary to popular rumour it had been Aarch who had convinced Artegor to follow him to the Shadows; Artegor would have followed him anywhere.
Together they formed a symbiosis; Aarch's light balanced his own darkness in a way that kept Artegor stable, kept him sane. It was love and beyond. When Aarch left Artegor felt unable to resist, the Smog ate him alive, tore at him from within. Darkness.
Aarch restored the balance, made him whole again, cured him of the Smog poisoning and his loneliness, was his anchor again.
"Aarch needs you." Rocket had said that and Artegor had come running. Seeing Aarch standing there so desolate was so surreal, Aarch was always so confident, so indestructible- the hero. There they were and Artegor could feel nostalgia for the wealth of history that had passed between them, good and bad, wash over him in waves.
It would always come down to this. The two of them; the give and take. Artegor walked over there and gave Aarch exactly what he needed. He had talked of change and he believed in his own words; he knew he could be Aarch's support, that things could be different between them whilst staying the same at the core. He didn't have to stay in the role he had cast for himself, the parasite, leeching off Aarch.
Together they went to Paradisia with the team, with their team; together they could achieve their dreams, the right way this time around. Artegor had high hopes for a future that was in his own hands, a future that they could build as equals. He knew they could win for once, together, moving towards the light.
I actually wrote something happy for them for once! Yay! Please review!
