"Chocolate always tastes better in egg form". Something Commando said at boot camp, made me chuckle. In the 'No Place Like Home' universe. Happy Easter, R&R!

Laughing, seven year old Rachel Rafter raced through the backyard, plucking a pink, foil wrapped chocolate egg off the grass, slipping it into her basket. Running to catch up to her best friend, Jake Barton giggled.

"I've got more than you!"

"I've got more!" Ben, Rachel's younger brother, protested.

"Wait!" Nathan, the youngest Rafter, urged.

"There are two types of people, when it comes to Easter", Grace Barton mused, watching the four children in amusement. "Scoffers and ekers".

"Spot the difference", Julie Rafter chuckled.

Jake and Ben were definitely scoffers, their Easter baskets full of foil rather than chocolate. Rachel and Nathan, on the other hand, were ekers. Their baskets contained chocolate, chocolate that no doubt Jake and Ben would try to snaffle away, later in the day.

"Chocolate always tastes better when it's an egg", Rachel said wisely, later that same day. She and Jake were sitting side by side on the lounge room floor, as Rachel emptied her basket onto the carpet.

"Can I have an egg, Rach?" Jake begged.

"You ate all yours!" she protested.

Jake batted his eyelids, his chocolate brown eyes melting as they met her blue ones and the blonde caved.

"Fine... but only one!"

"Mum, we have to have an Easter egg hunt!" Ben protested. "What kind of childhood are you planning on giving my baby sister and my baby niece?"

Ruby Rafter and Isabelle Barton, both barely a year old, were on the rug in the lounge room, while the older ones sat around the table, contemplating Easter for that year.

"Yeah, come on Mum!" Rachel enthused.

"You just want the chocolate", Julie accused her daughter, a twinkle in her eyes.

"Absolutely... but we need photos! What's Isabelle going to say, when she learns that there are no photos from her first Easter because her beloved grandmother didn't want an Easter egg hunt!"

"Her parents could do it instead", Dave said dryly, across the room. Grace chuckled, looking at her only grandchild in admiration.

"What's the fun in that?"

In the end, Dave and Julie Rafter caved, hiding Easter eggs around the backyard and letting their three older children take around their youngest and their granddaughter, sharing the joy of hunting Easter eggs.

"Chocolate always tastes better in egg form", Rachel whispered, sealing the statement with a kiss to Jake's lips.
