Manjoume shivered as he walked quickly with his arms folded. A gust of wind came past his head, chapping his lips and causing his ears to ache. Manjoume's ears always ached when the wind whistled past them. He would remember that just as well as he remembered just about everything anymore. He could see Manjoume tucking his head further into his coat trying to get good cover for his ears. Oh how he missed him in the days when he was allowed to- well, he knew that Manjoume wouldn't accept his new lifestyle. When Manjoume reached his car he pulled out his keys.
Manjoume was on the ground now. How could that be, he thought to himself. His eyes darted back and forth. He could smell them but he couldn't see them. He could tell already that not only could he not see them, they were much stronger than him as well. Coward, he thought. But what could he really do other than watch? Three vampires came into view for a second and then they were gone. Even the smell was gone. He waited where he was, even knowing that his friend lay on the ground, probably dead or dying.
After he was sure the creatures that attacked Manjoume were gone, he went immediately to his friend's side. He knelt down and he could tell without even touching him that Manjoume was dead. He ran his hand over Manjoume's hair and began to cry. I should have saved him. So what if I would have died... I could have at least died trying. "I couldn't see them Manjoume... I wish I could have been a better friend." He wiped one of his red tears off Manjoume's lips. He lifted him up to embrace him one last time, but to his surprise Manjoume started to stir, the man biting into his shoulder. He quickly pushed him back, staring at him completely stunned. He felt nothing but pure terror as he slowly realized what he had done.
He was alive...
"The fuck did you do to me?!" Manjoume yelled, writhing in pain. "DAMMIT!" Manjoume screamed, clutching his stomach. "Oh shit..." he squeaked. He rolled so his mouth would face the pavement. He vomited, spewing everything he had for dinner. Immediately his face fell in it and he vomited even more.
The other stood over Manjoume in complete shock. His hands were on his head pulling at his long brown hair. He paced back and forth eyes remaining fixated in utter panic at Manjoume. "I didn't mean to do this," he half whispered. No cars drove by. No other sounds. All he could hear was Manjoume cry out in pain.
"Oh please stop!" Manjoume continued to scream at the top of his lungs. He rolled around in his own vomit. He threw up again. More screaming. The brunet couldn't take it anymore. He picked up Manjoume not caring about getting barf all over him and just held him as he screamed into his ear. "I'm so sorry for this, Manjoume. I didn't mean it but I promise, I will take care of you forever."
Suddenly he stopped screaming. He pushed himself out of the other's arms, almost stunned that he was alright. He winced and then blinked a bunch of times, putting a finger to his eye to pull out a contact. He looked at the brunet in disbelief. He pulled out the other contact. "I can see perfectly." he turned around slowly, as if to admire every minute detail of his surroundings. "More than okay...," he said in disbelief despite now being able to see without his contacts.
And then Manjoume's eyes reached the tall brunet. If he were smiling, he probably would have recognized him sooner. He squinted. "Wait is that... you Fubuki?"
Fubuki nodded. He was stunned at his beautiful creation.
"I can't believe you have been around all this time and you didn't once think to tell me that you were alright. Some friend you were. "Manjoume smelled the air and then plugged his nose. "That smell is..."
"Lets go get you cleaned up." Fubuki said turning his back to Manjoume "And something to eat?"he looked over his shoulder and popped a devious smile.
"Yes."
