Chapter one: Gotham. My new home.
The day was sunny. A beautiful day to enjoy. But for the brown-haired girl, it was not a pleasant day. It was a bad day, for there in two graves, the girl was burying her parents. Dead in a fatal car accident, because of overtaking. She survived with only cuts and a bandaged left arm. Lucky me, she thought wryly.
The priest's words were not heard by her, for her mind only remembered the screams of her parents before the beat. The psychologist at the hospital who attended her said that it is very common to have nightmares and be traumatized by the accident. But that with the time, care and love of the new adoptive parents, she would recover. Perhaps.
That's right. Since she is a minor, she needs a new legal guardian, who would be her only living relative. Jim Gordon. The guy was still her godfather, that is to say, that the two had a very good relationship as an uncle and niece, but with constant work, the two ended up seeing little, which shook the little relationship they had. Now, it's time for her to get closer to the godfather, she was moving to Gotham.
The city seemed to be very busy and a bit dirty by the industrialized side, it was far from being New York City's life, but you had its charm, as your godfather says, as art and culture, which is always remembered for the better of life financially .
"Barbara has already got a psychologist to be seen once a week and she has already enrolled in the private school in Gotham. It's one of the best around here, "Jim said, noticing the thought away from his niece. He put his hand on her shoulder, massaging it. "Will be all right. You'll fit in here. "
The two of them arriving at the apartment were greeted by Jim's fiancee, Barbara. "Jim, glad you're here. I just made a welcome yakisoba. Hello dear. My condolences."
"Thank you," Ava said during the woman's embrace.
"Come eat, drop it, Jim. I'm sure you're tired of the trip. Tomorrow we'll figure it out. "Barbara called, dragging the girl by the arm to the table where her uncle and now his aunt sat. As they waited, the girl only said one thing at dinner, and went to praise her aunt's food. So she did not linger to retire to her new room. The room had white walls, a bed and a study table. Outside, the view she had of Gotham's buildings. "I hope you like it here. You're very welcome, baby. "And with a good night's hug, Barbara left the girl with her thoughts.
With Shakespeare's book, Ava tried to keep her mind from drowsiness, for she did not want to go to sleep and have nightmares about the accident. And that's how it dawned the day. She ended up following the coffee preparation with Barbara, and Jim would have left for work.
The woman ended up taking the girl for her first day of school at the new school. Ava just thought about how much she wanted to have a quiet first day of school. She did not want to have to compare herself to others, who seemed to be much better than her.
"Be yourself and everything will be all right. Anything, ask the school to call me. Bye, "said Barbara.
After going to the office to pick up the list of classes, Ava headed toward the classroom where the teacher had already entered.
"Excuse me, teacher. May I come in?"
"Of course. Students, attention. This is our new student, Miss. Ava Gordon. We've been warned about you. We want to welcome you. "
"Thanks."
Ava half-bewildered with the glances, went to the empty chair, which was behind a boy who seemed to wear gel on his brown hair.
"Hello, I'm Bruce Wayne. Be very welcome. "The boy said in front of him.
"Thank you!"
All day long Bruce made a point of keeping him company. And with that, she learned that he is one of the richest boys in school, that he is very quiet and that he is very kind. Maybe Gotham would not be so horrible.
