Tongue
The picture was making its way from phone to phone, one detective at a time. Logan's phone gave its texting ring, and he opened the message. He grinned, a good, solid, Logan grin. "Hey, Wheeler," he called. "Check this out."
He held the phone out so she could see the picture. She raised her hand to her mouth and smiled. "Text that to me," she said.
"Sure thing," he replied, punching the buttons on his phone. He admired the picture once again. "Awesome."
"What's up with them?" She asked her partner as they returned to their desks. Everyone seemed to be interested in Goren today.
"Nothing new here," Bobby said. He was used to being the object of conversation in Major Case. He ignored them all, sat down, and unzipped his binder.
Her phone rang. She looked at the text, and even Alex had to bury her smile. She turned back to Logan and saw him grinning back at her. Then she looked at the picture one more time. "Bobby," she began, but never finished. She wasn't sure how to tell him.
"What, Eames?"
"I think I know what's up around here," she said.
He raised his eyes in her direction and registered the slight smile on her face. "And?" he prompted.
At a loss for words, she turned the phone so he could see. He looked, then tilted his head with a tolerant smile. "Lovely."
"It is pretty funny, you gotta admit."
"I actually did that?" Bobby's phone rang, and he read his text. "Logan says there are three women who'd like to see me Friday night." He smiled at Alex. Teasing from his friends was all right, but he hoped it wouldn't go too far.
Alex looked at the photograph again. Bobby's brow was furrowed, as if he was deep in thought, but his tongue was sticking out like he was about to give somebody raspberries.
"Who took that?" he asked.
"Could have been anybody," Alex replied. "See the curtains? It was here⦠Looks like the Captain's office."
His phone rang again. "Daniels says I still have ice cream on my face, I didn't get it all." He rolled his eyes. They were going to harass him mercilessly. He looked at his partner. "If I ever do that again, poke me in the ribs or something."
She grinned. "Sure, Bobby." Her grin grew into a laugh as he fielded another text message.
