When the street lights come on and the fireflies flicker, I am walking her home, Making plans.
"I'm a little bit tired" she sighs as he looks at her, she does look tired not just physically but emotionally, he smiles at her, they've been looking at each other for a while now he can't seem to take his eyes off her, he never can, he is drawn to her.
"Come on. I'll walk you home" he whispers
She doesn't hesitate as he helps her put her coat on although he's not sure what's going to happen next, he knows he needs to tell her how he feels. They haven't said anything to each other on the short walk back to her flat.
"So this is when you tell me where to go" he laughs as he looks down to the ground the back at her, searching, for anything that will tell him what she's thinking.
"If you had any brains you wouldn't need telling" she imagines he'll reply with something like 'brain damage remember' and he does, he's still milking that one, and she laughs at the thought of it and the memories from when he last said it.
"Carla, i know what i feel for you" he's serious in the way he says it, but that's only because he needs her to know that nothing could put him off wanting to be with her, he has fallen in love with her, still falling in fact. He'll always be falling, but they could fall together.
"I will hurt you in the end you know?" and she knows she will but she has to take the chance, she should choose happy, and he makes her happy, happier than shes been in a long time but she needs him to be sure. She's giving him a way out before he gets in to deep.
"I'll take my chances" he sighs. And he would, he'd risk it all if it meant he was with her. He can see the relief in her eyes along with the tears shes so desperately trying to hold back, she sighs as she relaxes in his arms as they sway gently, he can feel her tears on his coat but doesn't say anything, just calms her as he gently strokes her back. She was worth it, she's worth taking that chance on.
