This will be a one-shot. ONE-SHOT I SAY! Unless over eight people want it to be contiuted, then I might consider it. They're getting married so they're all about 25/26

Darkness

'Where did I go wrong? I shouldn't have hurt her like that.. because of that... she left me. Then that dammed Naruto and her got back together. And now they're getting married...Well, anything to make her happy..." Gaara thought sadly as he looked out over a restless Konoha. It was a few hours before the wedding, Gaara was leaning on the railing of the balcony outside his room. His gourd lay besid him. He closed his eyes to get a few minutes of mock sleep.

"Gaara.." A soft voice whisperd from behind him. He didn't even turn to look. The sweetness of the voice; he knew it all too well. Slowly, he turned. There she was. Hinata. She stood in her white wedding gown. It drooped to the floor, sleeveless, and wore long elegent gloves that went up to her elbows. Her hair had grown longer from when they were twelve and was now put up in a fancy bun.

'She's so beautiful..' He thought. He could only Gawk at her. His voice refusing to ruin the moment.

"Yes." He managed, sounding calm.

"Are you ok with this?" She asked quietly. Gaara stood there compleatly speachless. His heart screaming no.

"I dont care." He turned to lean on the railing once again.

"B-because," Hinata contiuted," I dont want to do anything unless your ok with it."

"I dont own you Hinata, you'll have to learn to think for yourself." She chocked out a nod. "But, if he hurts you I'm... I'll beat him until he learns his lesson." Hinata smiled weakly.

"Thank you... Sabaku no Gaara..." She came up behind him and wrapped her arms around his waist. "Thank you for everything." He placed his hands over her's as she gently rested her head on his shoulder. There was a few moments of silence as they obsorbed in each other's warmth. Unourtunatly, Gaara could hear Naruto talking to Kiba below them. They both seemed to be looked for Hinata. He forced every mucle in his body to tear himself from her embrace.

"Your wanted." He said slowly. She looked up at him sadly.

"Will you be there?" He pulled her into another tight hug.

"I wouldn't miss it for the world." He whisperd in her ear. His grip then loosened as he let her go. The two stared at each other for a minute, before Hinata turned.

"I'd better go." She said. Gaara watched as she aproched the door and laid a gloved hand on the door handel.

"Wait Hinata." Gaara took a step towards her. He was gonna tell her. She couldn't go with Naruto. He had to say he was sorry, he had to say he still loved her he had to stop her. It was now or never.

"Yes?" Hinata turned, her white eyes filled with anticapation. She knew what he wanted to say. They had both wanted to hear it for so long.

"Take care of yourself." Gaara said. He cursed to himself. He just couldn't say it. Hinata sighed. Letting out the breath she reilised she had been holding.

"You to." She then opened the door and stepped out. Gaara sighed and leaned back on the balcony. He looked down and saw Hinata and Naruto meeting up. He watched them share a kiss, before walking hand in hand towards the chapple. He sighed and shook his head. After a few more minutes, he pulled his heavy gourd onto his back. He opened the door and stepped out, decending back into the darkness from where he came. She was his light and he let her go. Now he had to face the concequences. Shukaku chuckled from the back of his mind.

'Well kid, it's just you and me again.' Gaara sighed.

'Yeah... I know." He glanced over his shoulder one last time, before closing the door with a click.
