Note: This is just something I came up with on the whim. It's a oneshot and centered around a certain chapter in Gone. I was looking through the book today (bored to death) and found certain words that I thought would make a very…..interesting story. Hope you like it! Enjoy!

Her lips. It was always her hips. They were red and round and stood out, even without any makeup on. They made the rest of her face look plain in comparison.

Not that the rest her face was ugly or anything. It's just the opposite, actually; her face was gorgeous. It was heart-shaped and her shoulder-length blonde hair outlined it – and the rest of her features – perfectly. She had sharp, blue eyes that sometimes seemed to wander off somewhere to think. Her skin was pale; very different from everyone else who lived at Perdido Beach, who all had tanned skin.

Before the FAYZ and all this had happened, he had had thought that she was way out his league; she still looked gorgeous even in ripped jeans and T-shirts with mud and dirt splattered all over it. But now – metaphorically speaking – at least she was somewhat reachable.

Physically speaking? She was very close.

Whenever she breathed, it sent shivers down his spine; she was that close.

He was sure that if he didn't do it soon, he'd faint and she'd think he was a wimp for not doing it.

It's just a kiss, he told himself. It's not like you haven't kissed anyone before.

Still…

"I can't kiss you if your brother's watching," he managed to choke out.

She looked at him, saw the struggling desperateness in his eyes, and made her brother turn around.

"How about now?"

In spit of himself, he grinned. She always knew how to make him feel better.

This time, he didn't need to force himself to do anything; he just moved with the flow.

Their kiss lasted for about ten seconds. But as soon as he pulled away, she couldn't help herself but throw her arms around his neck and pull him back down.

He didn't struggle.

When they both finally pulled away for real, she smacked him in the arm.

"Ow! What was that for?" he demanded, rubbing his arm.

She blushed, grinning slightly. "For waiting so long, you dummy," she scolded. And then she sauntered off into the night, her hips swaying to the rhythmic beating of his heart and hair flowing back freely in the wind.

Maybe it's not just a kiss.

Well? Whatdya think? RnR, please?
