A/N: Written, by mew-tsubaki's request, as a prequel to my Cho/Seamus story Unexpected. Although it makes sense to read this one on it's own, I highly recommend you read Unexpected after this piece!

The end-of-the-war excitement of Voldemort finally being defeated rippled through the Wizarding World quite quickly. Seamus wasn't alone in celebrating the downfall of the most evil wizard to exist and managed to do this by inviting everyone he knew to a party at The Three Broomsticks with as much butterbeer and good food that could be managed under that roof. He mingles with people he hasn't talked to in too long and he's smiling the whole time. Parvati sauntered over towards him more than once during the party to talk to him; more often than not during these mini chatting sessions just devolved into stiff small talk.

The rest of the party blurred together and, before he knew it, there was an end. Seamus was practically limp from tiredness on his small bed in the flat he owned not too far from the Three Broomsticks. On his bed was a piece of parchment with the words "Cho Chang - talk to her!" clearly written on it, with her address on the bottom of the page with smaller letters.

It finally clicked: he got the address because, after talking to Parvati, he asked about Cho. Seamus knew that Parvati was friendly with Cho because Padma knew her. He can't remember why he was curious about Cho, but he got her address from Parvati nonetheless and wanted to talk with the former Ravenclaw Seeker. He vaguely remembered having a handful of pleasant conversations about Quidditch and school and other trivial things with Cho during school, but he never really got to know her. Seamus regretted not knowing her for reasons he was too tired to think of at the moment.

With the thought of reconnecting with a girl he never fully connected with in the first place, he sat at a desk he set up in his room and began to write.

Cho, Seamus started, not wanting to frighten her with too much intimacy too soon.

I'm Seamus Finnegan. Remember that sandy blonde haired Gryffindor a year below you who talked too fast and too much about Quidditch? Yeah, that was me. I just wanted to say hello, and ask about life.

Sincerely,

Seamus

He sent the letter in the morning with a grin that split his face in half. Seamus had a good feeling about this new friendship to come.
