"Where's Kuwabara?" Yusuke demanded as he looked out onto the small pond to see that the boat he was in before was now empty.

"You can relax, Urameshi," Sensui replied calmly, "I haven't harmed him at all if that's what you're so worried about. It's quite the opposite, in fact."

"There!" Kurama shouted as they all looked to the right of the cave. Kuwabara was now safely on the shore, still tied up and gagged of course, but he wasn't injured.

They all ran over to him and Yusuke asked, "When the hell did you get over here?"

After Kurama untied his gag, he answered, "I don't know actually, but I'd really like to be untied now you guys!"

"Focus," Kurama said, "how did you get over here? Did you see anything?"

He explained, "I felt this weird energy come over me and then I was suddenly over here. I don't know who did it."

Hiei asked, "Does anyone else feel that?" He looked around the cave as he felt the demon energy rising toward them all.

"What the hell is that thing?" Yusuke asked as a shadow moved closer to them along the ground.

"Move! Now!" Kurama shouted.

Hiei and Kurama jumped backwards in opposite directions, Hiei toward the opening and Kurama toward the water. Yusuke, Kuwabara, and Seaman disappeared into the ground before their eyes. As the shadow moved upward along the wall it spit Yusuke out so he landed across from Sensui.

Sensui said, "Well, two of you have brains and reflexes. That's two more than I was expecting."

"Hey!" Kuwabara shouted from the beast, "You could have moved me out of the way you know! You punks! We're not supposed to leave each other behind!"

Kurama asked, "How did you tame a shadow beast?" He ran to stand by Yusuke as the shadow moved closer to him.

Yusuke asked, "Is that what that thing is? Hey, freak, what did you do to Kuwabara?"

"It wasn't me who tamed him," Sensui explained, "and you two should be more worried about yourselves." He looked at Hiei, and then Kurama.

Kurama suddenly couldn't move. He glanced down and saw one of the hands had grasped his shadow, forcing him to stand still. Before he could even come up with a plan to save himself, he was put into the shadow's beast mouth against his will.

Yusuke asked, "Kurama! What's the big idea? Killing them off is only going to piss me off!" He watched as Hiei jumped out of the way again and stood near Yusuke as a shadow arm chased him.

"You have the wrong idea, spirit detective," Sensui said calmly, "I'm just making sure this is a fair fight. I don't want to harm any of them." Hiei glared at him. "You can only run for so long."

He said, "Hn, we'll see about that." He jumped up again to dodge another arm when he was suddenly smacked against the ground, stepped on by the shadow beast and then thrown into his mouth like he was nothing.

"Can someone untie me now?" Kuwabara asked as Hiei showed up, "Since we're all here together and everything."
