Sports Fair in Unfair!

I was really looking forward to the Sports Fair. I had gotten the code for the jump suit and everything! I really wanted to be in the foot race, so I got there just in time.

I talked to Tortimer and he gave me a medal. I was rather confused because I hadn't won yet, but put it into my pocket. One of my neighbors had the pop-gun at hand, so I got in line.

The weirdest thing happened! It was almost like an invisible force field was blocking me from the line! When the race started, everyone was yelling at me to get out of the way, even though I was competing. I ran faster than the other competitors, but I didn't win. Mint did.

I did it again and again, but never won the race. I was mad. I pushed the clock to the next event, tug of war. I got to the Wishing Well early, but didn't get a spot on the rope. I asked someone about it, and they yelled at me again! I was so disappointed.

The last event was ball tossing. I couldn't pick up any balls, let alone throw them! At last, I gave up. The next day I asked Tortimer what was going on. He said, "The games are only for the animals!"

So I started a petition. I put up on the bulletin board, "SPORTS FAIR IS UNFAIR! HELP LET HUMANS COMPETE IN THE SPRTS FAIR BY SIGNING THIS PETITION!"

By the next year, I had everyone in the town's signature. Even all the shop keeps and visitors! The week before the next Sports Fair, Tortimer made an amendment to the rule book, "All citizens have the right to compete in all Sports Fairs!"

I trained during morning exercises. When racing time came, I was ready. I lined up next to Mint. When I heard that BANG, I got ahead. One lap, two, last lap. I saw the ribbon, and felt it snap.

I won the race! I was so proud of my medal. I even sent my parents a letter. It was the best day ever.
