Fruits

Hinata walked around the market, looking at various fruits. She was bored, so she decided to pick out the fruits that reminded her of her friends.

An orange for Naruto-kun, red apple for Sakura-chan, lemon for Neji-nii san… she counted them off in her head. She walked to the side and bumped into someone. "Oh, I-I'm sorry," she apologized.

"Hinata-chan?" a familiar voice said. Hinata looked up at who she bumped into. She blushed. It was Naruto. He smiled. "What are you doing here?" She looked down at the fruit in her hands.

"N-Nothing much…." She confessed. Naruto tilted his head. He started taking fruit from Hinata's grasp.

"Let me help you." He said, taking more. "That's a lot of fruit. What are you planning to do with it all?"

"I-I'm not s-sure," she said. Naruto was confused.

"Then why did you pick them all?" he looked at her.

"T-The fruits I p-picked remind m-me of my f-friends." She confessed.

"Oh, I see." He helped her pick out a few more fruit and paid for them. They were having fun.

While they were walking home, Hinata spoke up.

"Y-You didn't have t-to help m-me." she stuttered. Naruto shrugged.

"I wanted too," he said and Hinata blushed. "And plus it was a lot of fruit." All Hinata could do was nod. "I hope you don't mind me asking, but what fruit am I?" Hinata smiled, still blushing.

"This one," she reached into her bag and pulled out and orange.

"An orange?" Naruto asked. Hinata nodded.

"You could add them to lots of things, their delicious, and even though their outside is a little rough and hard, the inside is soft. I like them." She replied without stuttering, but realizing that she had just confessed to Naruto, she blushed a shade of red that would put a tomato to shame. Naruto blushed also and smiled.

"But you know who you forgot Hinata-chan?" he told her. Hinata shook her head. "You." Hinata looked up at him. "And you know what you are?" She shook her head.

"N-No." she told him. Naruto continued to smile.

"Strawberries." He said. "Their sweet, delicious, you can also add them to a lot of things too. And even though their smaller than most fruit, they can have the biggest impact because they're so good. You can't help but love them." Hinata hadn't realized that Naruto's face was less than an inch away from hers when he finished. Gently, he placed his lips against hers. When he pulled away, he was smiling. So was she. He walked her home in silence.

"Night Hinata-chan." He said before she walked into her house. Hinata waved and shut the door behind her. Then she put the fruit in the kitchen and walked to her room. She got dressed then flopped down on her bed and sighed. After a few minutes, she fell asleep.

The next morning, Hinata woke up to hear the birds chirping, the sun beaming through her window. Something lightly tapped on her window and caught her attention. There was something on her balcony. She opened the doors and grabbed the basket. She removed the cover and saw oranges and strawberries inside the basket. There was a small note in the middle above the mixed fruit.

Oranges and strawberries go well together.
