Title: Bottom's Up
Drabble: #64
TK's prompt: Blister
Randomly selected pairing: Kouken
Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon.
Notes: I could've been abducted today. Apparently there are two men in a large car who have so far tried to abduct over four girls in an area where I was walking alone. Scary thought, no? I'm so tired.
Koushiro didn't even consider warning Ken before dropping himself into his unsuspecting boyfriend's lap. Said unsuspecting boyfriend let out a small yelp of surprise but didn't otherwise complain; and understandably so. It wasn't very often that Koushiro would do something like that. Normally he'd just sit himself next to Ken, with enough space between them to allow for no physical contact that wasn't deliberate. So Ken did the logical thing and made the most of the moment by wrapping his arms around Koushiro and hugging him as close as possible.
But Koushiro didn't respond even in the slightest; this was when Ken realised that he must have had something else on his mind, and that was probably why he hadn't thought twice about sitting on his lap. He didn't want to ruin the moment, but Koushiro's curiosity had rubbed off on him over the years and before long he couldn't resist tentatively asking him what was up.
The reply wasn't immediate since Koushiro was a little busy, seemingly inspecting his foot. Ken didn't see what was so interesting, so he settled for giving Koushiro an odd glance until he received an answer. And when the answer came, it was that Koushiro had blisters on his heels. Big ones, which hurt. And when Ken, puzzled, asked how he got them, he replied that he'd been wearing new shoes all day.
At first it seemed a little insensitive when Ken laughed, and Koushiro briefly considered reminding him of the time when he walked into a glass door and got a nosebleed. But before he got an opportunity, Ken apologised and asked why Koushiro didn't break the shoes in before he started wearing them out and about.
He received nothing more than a blank look in return, one which seemed to say, 'what are you talking about?' He returned the look with an equally straight face, wanting an answer.
Koushiro turned away before he replied, a hint of a blush dusted over his cheeks, that he didn't realise you needed to do anything with shoes before you started to wear them. He only had one pair which he wore for everything, and he'd had those for as long as he could remember.
Ken blinked. He was obviously amazed that he knew something Koushiro didn't. It was a cause for celebration; he stood up, dropping Koushiro to the floor as unceremoniously as he had dropped himself onto his lap, and went in search of a celebratory drink.
