"And in other news, the masked vigilante of Gotham has saved the city once again, stopping the Joker only moments before a bomb destroyed city hall entirely. Only Channel 5 News was able to get this exclusive footage of the Batman and his young partners, Batgirl and Robin."
The picture flashes across the screen and Wally rolls his eyes. Uncle Barry would have gone up to the camera, smiled, taken a few pictures and then walked away calmly, leaving the whole city with a feeling of reassurance, knowing their hero was on their side. But leave it to the Bats to let the only picture taken of him that night be of him fleeing the scene like a criminal himself.
The camera zooms in on the corner of the picture, where the Bats' two shadows follow him.
"While we have always wondered the identities of our caped crusaders are, many today begin to wonder also at the ages of the Batman's partners. Stay tuned for Dr. Henrick, Head of Child Psychology at Gotham University, as we discuss the psychological implications of underage vigilantism-"
The newscaster is cut short as Wally rewinds the program, dragging it back to the picture of Batgirl and Robin. More specifically, he dragged it back to Batgirl. Wally quirked an eyebrow at the television. A thought slowly worked its way through his brain. He turned and threw a pillow at his friend on the other side of the room, typing away at his laptop.
"Hey," Wally called as Robin caught the pillow without ever looking up, "When are we gonna meet Batgirl anyhow?"
Robin cackled as he threw the pillow back to his red headed friend. "About the same time Batman lets me tell you my real name."
"But she's hot." Thwap! "Ow! What was that for!"
"Don't talk about BG like that. It's creepy."
"You shorten Batgirl to BG?"
…
"Yep."
"Cool!"
Short and sweet, it just kind of popped into my head. For anyone who is unsure 'BG' is Barbara Gordon, because if Dick Grayson is Robin then Barbara Gordon is Batgirl to me and I don't care who they actually say it is on the show. Even if she's never actually on the show.
