he two cats sat just close enough to each other so their fur brushed against one another's. The gray tom with many scars and the oddly colored calico sat side by side, enjoying the last ray of sunshine on the top of the highest cliff before darkness engulfed thunderclan.
Dappleberry looked up at her mate, Wolfclaw looked down and smiled, but then quickly looked back out. "I'll be right back." Wolfclaw sighed, getting up with a grunt and padding away, leaving Dappleberry at the edge of the cliff.
Moments went by and still no sign of Wolfclaw. Dappleberry impatiently looked back to see if her mate had returned, but not even a trace of Wolfclaw lingered around. Dappleberry sighed and settled in, hoping Wolfclaw would return.
All of a sudden Dappleberry heard a crack.
Dappleberry gasped as she was thrown down as the earth cascaded from under her, but managed to swing around and grip onto the edge of the cliff with her long claws. Dappleberry looked down past her dangling haunches to look how far the drop was if she were to fell, and felt dizzy with fear.
Dappleberry was just about to let go from the cliff when she felt warmth surge through her. The tiny warrior looked up to see her Mate and sighed with relief. "Wolfclaw! It's you-" Dappleberry was cut off as she felt pain run through her paws, and saw Wolfclaw dig his thorn sharp claws into her sensitive paws.
Dappleberry grunted with pain and gasped. "Wolfclaw! What are you doing?!"
Wolfclaw sneered, grinning. "Your so gullible!" He laughed. "I never loved you. In fact, I never wanted to know you. Do you really think I'd love a cat who's father is the king of the Dark Forest?"
Dappleberry stiffened, not knowing what to say. Though she was in pain, she just stared at Wolfclaw.
"I'm loyal to my own clan! Not some piece of dirt the fox dragged in. Your lucky to be alive right now." Wolfclaw growled. "In fact, you'll be lucky to even hit the ground alive." Wolfclaw let go, sending Dappleberry plummeting to the ground.
Dappleberry felt as if she wasn't going to die. The fur breezing through the warriors fur made her feel more alive. As if she had just killed Wolfclaw. Dappleberry, still descending to the ground, she showed a wicked grin as she looked back up at Wolfclaw.
"Oh, you have made a big mistake Wolfclaw!" Dappleberry wildly screeched before landing with a limp thud on the sharp, rocky floor, and heading into dizzying blackness.
