Orange, magenta, violet.

Watching the sunset it's hard to believe that this beauty is not real. That this "sky" was created by the same gamemakers who are trying to kill us. I push these thoughts aside and focus on Katniss. She too is watching the sunset, but the faraway look in her eyes makes me think her thoughts may be back in district twelve. I decide it's time to show Katniss the locket. I know it is my last chance to convince her, to make sure she is the one who lives. So I take the locket from around my neck and open it revealing pictures of Mrs. Everdeen, Primrose, and Gale. I tell Katniss that her family needs her, that she has to live. I can tell it affects her. Then her eyes meet mine. "What about you?" she asks. I try to smile. "Nobody needs me." I don't say it to get her pity or for the cameras, but because it is the truth. And if these are our last few hours together I want them to be as real as possible. Katniss doesn't say anything for a few seconds. I can tell she is considering my statement. Then she says, "I do. I need you." It's something she could have said for the cameras, but she seems completely fixed on me. Then we kiss. A long sweet kiss with fire in it. And afterwords, when I see the look in her eyes, I know. This is real, and no matter what happens, we have found forever in this moment.
