Harry's heart raced as he stared at the electric clock next to his bed in his room. Louis had invited him to go to a New Year's party, but Harry had politely declined. He wasn't in the mood to celebrate another year of a solitary life.

All he had wanted from the year 2011 was an impossible relationship, a relationship that would possibly aid One Direction or ruin it. All he wanted was Louis Tomlinson.

Rubbing his eyes he walked out of his bedroom and past the TV in the living room that was showing the end of the year celebration in London. People were gathered in the streets, waiting for the clock to chime twelve times to signify the need to celebrate.

". . . 10!" The people yelled.

Harry stopped walking and watched, leaning his hip against the couch.

" . . . 9!"

If only he weren't alone.

". . . 8!"

Maybe next year . . . .

". . . 7!"

The front door of the flat jiggled, must have been the wind.

". . . 6!"

Silent footsteps briskly cross the floor.

". . . 5!"

A tap on the shoulder,

". . . 4!"

Harry turns around in surprise at the sight of Louis, cheeks bright red and breathing heavily.

". . . 3!"

"You didn't think I would actually leave you alone, would you?" Louis asked as he pulled Harry close to him and wrapped his arms around his lower back.

". . . 2!"

"What are you talking about?" Harry blushed at how intimate they were being, being so close and all.

". . . 1!"

"This." Louis leaned forward, capturing Harry's lips in a sweet kiss.

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!" The people on the television screamed.

The fireworks that went off were nothing compared to the fireworks going off in Harry's heart – that was for sure.

As Louis pulled away, smile gracing his lips, he rested his forehead against Harry's and whispered, "Happy New Year's, my love."
