Yao watched amused, as Ivan attempted to leap on the ice. When the larger man landed it and seamlessly turned it into a graceful glide in his direction; he was amazed. The Russian man slid to a stop a few inches in front of him and held his hand out for Yao to take. Albeit hesitantly, the Chinese man took it. Ivan promptly pulled him away from the edge of the pond. "Stay right there. Da?" He said, already almost back to the edge they just were at. Yao gave his companion a questioning look.
"I heard you could do a triple axle and still connect with your partner smoothly right after." Ivan explained as his lowered his self onto a bended knee. "Can you show me?"
Yao blushed. He didn't think anyone would find out that he was more talented than he let on. He gulped. "I can try." Ivan seemed happy with that answer.
Yao launched himself forward with fluid like motions and jumped into the freezing winter air. He crossed his ankles and his arms over his chest tightly and tilted his body back at a forty-five degree angle. His first turn was done; he whipped his body around again. 'One more.' He thought. He felt himself spin one last time as he uncrossed his ankles and arms. As soon as his right leg hit the ice, he brought his left back to propel himself into his partner's arms.
His eyes locked with Ivan's. Brown mixed with amethyst as Ivan raised himself to both feet. The tall man pushed himself towards his smaller best friend.
Yao's orbs were still locked on Ivan, completely ready for their meeting. Ivan's arms opened right as they collided, instantly trapping their prize.
Yao accepted the hug; without hesitation this time. "You know," He started. "For being the coldest country in the world, you are very warm." Ivan smiled at the thought that he was Yao's heat source.
"You know," It was his turn for an observation. "For being one of the oldest countries in the world you sure are oblivious. Da?" Yao pouted and pulled away from the embrace.
"What do you mean, aru?" Ivan smiled and pulled Yao back into his embrace.
"Yao, you are the reason I am so warm."
Both males could feel their cheeks redden from embarrassment more so than by the frigid air. "You," Ivan continued, lowering his head to the top of Yao's. "You light the fire in my heart, and it only burns when you are near."
Yao tilted his head out of Ivan's chest. "And you are my water." He answered softly. "Together our love will boil forever."
Ivan reached down picked Yao up from underneath his knees, resting him comfortably in the crook of his elbow as he supported his back. Yao shifted so he was looking right at the Russian as he wrapped his arms around his neck.
They both leaned their heads forward. Ivan tilted his left as Yao went left. Their lips shyly connected. Yao held his lips atop Ivan's for a few extra moments. When he pulled away he knew for sure; their love for each other was sealed.
