Guess who... again!

After my last fic - Daddy issues - those who guessed Zuko and Toph were indeed correct.

Happy guessing!

Oh, and yeah, yeah... own nothing... (especially not Avatar) we get the drill.

"Don't mind him" she said, sitting down beside him on a log after a particularly bitter confrontation. "Ever since... well, ever since our mother died in the war... well... he still holds a grudge."

The boy beside her didn't say anything.

"It was really hard, because we were so young. It's happened to a lot of people that we've met. The Fire Nation really have done a lot of damage..."

She blushed. "Not that it's your fault of course..."

She was rambling. "It was hard for all of us... just..." and then she unknowingly delivered the final blow. "it's just - some more than others."

He turned his head to her, in ready to explode anger. Heating up at her pathetic attempt at politeness. What was wrong with the world, that it wasn't proper for a girl to hold her tongue anymore? First he got insults barrelled at him all morning from the other girl in the group and now this.

He breathed heavily. Smoke becoming visible from his slightly parted lips as he tried to calm himself.

She had no right.

No right to think herself better than him. More of the victim than him. When what he'd been through in the last four years would be enough to break anyone.

He got up and turned his head towards her. "Just because you're a lowly peasant doesn't mean that you're the only one to lose your family in this war. Your mother." He spat.

"I... I..." she was taken aback. She didn't think, was what she wanted to say... but it didn't come out.

He'd already stalked away.

Now she'd done it. She wondered how to fix the damage she'd done. Maybe she should make him something. Like a hat, she thought. Only one question remained. Was he a hat man or a bag man?
